Progress on Paul's (PNPGS300) Turbo conversion
All, I've been busy working and also playing this summer racing season.
Wanted to give the JZS147 brother's an update.
I've been racing this entire summer and working out the kinks on my ride. On Sept. 29th at Interstate dragway in Sabin MN I finally ran 10.8 sec 1/4 mile @ 126mph.
I had been running consistently mid to low 11's but that was not biggy so I didn't post anything. I finally got into the 10's.
Again specs:
Fuel C16
boost @ 22psi
Tires MT Drag Radials 275/40/17's @ 17psi.
Wheels RFP1 Enkie's 10's in the rear and 7's in the front
Turbo: HKS t51-SPL
w/Transbrake left around 6200rpms and the tires hooked and I knew was on my way to a 10.
injectors 1000 cc
Trans SP400 w/reverse pattern
TRD Diff 3.73
I did hit my rev limiter in 1st gear so I probably could have gone a few ticks faster.
No cage but I got under the radar and didn't get kicked off. They are pretty strict about safety so I lucked out.
Next
10/13 is the last track day. I'm loading a new tune that takes me to 28 psi. I still have plenty left my max is 36/37psi but when you start pushing for more power and boost thats when things will start to break. Right now the car is streetable, scary to drive but blow's the bikers and the stangs and vetts.
I'll go for lower 10's... 9's would push it but its not out of reach. I believe there's no record today for a fully weighted and streetable 1st Gen. on MT Drag Radials too boot.
Stay tune. I'll try to get a vid and pics soon.
peace
This car is fully weighted with heated seats and AC. All working.

I've been out of the gs scene for a while, and now that I came back to the forums there is so much info on turbo swaps. There used to be practically nothing, first person I remember to shed some like on this was Jeff Kipe. I still have my 93 and decided I want to tackle a swap instead of selling the car. I summer 08 as a goal. I'm still in college so money is tight but I think I can pull it off. Its great to see people still tuning the gs, its a great car thanks for all the great pics and info
i make sure i be there to see you run those 10's, i was hoping my car would be finished getting paint/make over before the 13th, so i could run my bigger injectors since i did so poorly the last track day i went to. See you there, also what are you doing up here in fargo anyways? --mic.
I will have the car back in Illinois at the end of the month. And if there's no snow on 11/3 or 11/4 we'll be racing!
Some of the SP team will hit the track and we'll push the boost way up and attempt to set a record for a fully weighted and streetable sedan that tips 4000lbs and on MT Drag Radials!
watch for it in this thread!

Come out anyway its the last track day. I don't know what how the new tune will peform but let me just say, I'm pretty scared.
If you comeout , bring a helmet because they let you ride shot gun.
whereas other places they don't allow it.
As for me being in Fargo, ND I'm self-employeed and go where work is available. I'm contracting and have been in ND for the last 11 months.
The folks uphere are great! it sucks being a one make racing crew but when I go to Interstate Dragway all are open and willing to extend a helping hand and I return the favor.
I'll be the only one with a silver truck, silver trailer and the only silver GS300 and will be near the grandstands most likely near pit 3.
10.8 Is freakin awesome man! Cant wait to see what you do on 28psi. I wish I lived up in ND, Id get my camera and be there in a second. MIC when you go bring a camera and film his runs!
i could film it for the rest of you guys to watch and paul, you're right, being the only "silver" gs300 there, but not the only gs300 around this neck of the woods.(since mine is black on black, people can't even tell it's the same car?). Since i seen yours, i see that i had to step up my game alot, one reason why it's in the body shop right now, but was going in anyways.
