Default Clunking when sharp left turn...

I noticed today when slowly pulling out of my parking spot and sharply turning left (steering wheel turned to the left stop) a clunk, clunk, clunk sound and feel from the pass side front wheel. I thought it was a flat tire but no. I don't get any noises or shimmy at any speeds or any other scenario. I am aware of control arm and ball joint issues with these cars and wanted to ask if anyone else had this problem and what it ended up being. I haven't lifted it yet and checked for play... that's this weekend.

Thanks.

Could be a ball joint, but depending on what you have for wheels, if one's bent, it could be making contact with the strut or spring. I had this issue with my AE86.

Good point, but if the rim was bent wouldn't I get shimmy while driving?

You would think so, but when this happened to my AE86, there was no noticable shimmy while driving. Of course, that's a small, light car and the GSs are, well, not.
