Default Brake upgrades.

What is the main difference between the Supra TT brakes and the LS400 brakes? ANyone know the main difference between the 2 in terms of performance when installed on the 1st gen? They are both 4 piston.

thanks

not sure about install. tt units are cast, and the ls400 unit is monoblock i believe. if so the ls400 units should be lighter

Henry aren't only the newer LS430-design brakes aluminum monoblock and the older LS400 brakes pretty much the same design as the cast Supra brakes?

The Supra rotors are slightly larger than the LS rotors (one note that I saw the rotors size of the LS listed (12.42) is smaller than the Supra TT rotors (12.73)). Both are four piston and look about the same.

Haven't seen any comparative testing of them from performance standpoint.

you have to get 1998+ LS calipers
the rotors/pads are not interchangable (I was trying to see if the supra rotors/pads I bought would mate up with the LS models)

I had carson look into it for me quite extensively, one of the guys at their parts desk was very helpful.

they are MUCH lighter from what I hear. I was talking to Brown Duckz on SELOC/supra forums about it, he's got them on his SC and loves em.

honestly I would go with LS brakes. I already got the rotors/pads and promised a website a published write up on the install, otherwise I would also (and I'm getting a part out of it)

oh ya 25 grand for front brakes, that's an option uh huh
that's how much the family sized pizza rotor having 8 piston wonders from brembo cost.
