Default difference between 95 and 96?

sorry if this is a repost, but i cant seem to find something related to my question on these forums. im looking at parts for my gs3 but i find a lot that are for 92-95.... i have a 96. what is the difference in the engines. for example, i want to get an intake but many say for 92-95... would they fit on my car? what is the difference in engines?
thanks lawrence

only difference between the 93-95 and 96-97 are the 5 speed auto tranny, rims, beeping sound for the door lock, and thats all i could think of right now.

Yes there is a difference in the intake air filter box, the air filter on the 93-95 have a 4 bolt bracket you mount to put the 4" air filter, the 96-97 don't.I will look for some picture I took.To show the difference,
this is my car a 96GS

Here is bryans car, 93-95 models look like this.

Cool

The injen kit should work as it comes with an adapter to mount to the 4 bolt MAF, you just wouldn't need it. Worst case scenario you might have to use a pvc or metal coupling to join the MAF to the filter.

thanks for the info turbo. it helps a lot. also, lexus4jess..what kind of intake did you use? is it a custom job? any power gains? sound? im interested in getting something similar to your setup since it incorporates the MAF pretty easily and it looks like its not too hard to do

do you guys think that this is something that i should look into? where is his main source of air coming from? maybe i could move the shield and have the front part of my stock intake lead into the filter? hmmm.... my main concern is the MAF. do i use the old one and just plug and play?

When you're driving plenty of air comes in through the engine bay. Many have left the stock air scoop in place to blow air onto the new filter. Most don't use the metal heat shield. You use the old MAF, it will go after the filter.

This place has always given me the best deals and they have free shipping!

Not sure what they mean, it will mount just like lex4jess's does. You may have to reuse or buy a silicone coupler(EBay) and use a short pvc or metal piece to go from the MAF to the filter Everything else should bolt right up.
