I am new to this forum and to Lexus. I recently bought a used 1995 Lexus GS300. The car had no remotes with it. I ordered a key through a friend and it has been cut already. I need to set it up to open the doors, etc. This is a key with a single button remote.
I searched the forums and found the programming instructions for the newer model cars, but something must be different. By using the instructions, I can get the car into programming mode and it confirms that I am in re-write mode, but I only have a single button to push, not 2 buttons at the same time, etc. Once the car confirms it is in programming mode, I can press the single button and the doors lock and then unlock, but that's it. The remote does not work after that...
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance!
no problem.....I'm a tech at Lexus and was unaware of the "extra steps" involved in those older ones until I was pulling my hair out one day and ended up downloading the instructions...lol
Is there any way to make the car chirp the horn or something to verify that the doors are locked? My other car chirps once for locked and twice for unlocked. I have to look to see if the doors are locked or unlocked if I forget what state the car was in...
