Talking High Performance?

So I've been trying to find new insurance since my company won't carry me anymore because I got a racing ticket over a year ago, and thus far no luck. In fact, one broker told me one of the reasons it's so expensive for me in the Lex is cuz it's a "high performance" car!!??!! I just couldn't believe this. My nearly two ton luxury sedan is a high performance machine? Anyone else run into this problem... or have advice on where to go to get good SANE insurance?

Have you tried Amica? My family has been with them since cars were invented. "High performance?" WTF. High quality yes.

Someone told me ins. companies list cars as "high performance" that do not have a speed limiter.

I believe that "high performance" story is just a line they're feeding you.

Most Insurance companies don't care about a cars performance. (Think about how many times you see minvans and SUV's stopped for speeding) At least I know that State Farm and Farmers base rates on how much the car cost to repair, and saftey reatings. It just so happens that Ferrari's and Lambo's cost more to repair than a Ford Taurus. BTW: My 1992 LS400 comes in really low on insurance rate scale. Very Cheap

The real problem is that Racing ticket, <tisk><tisk>

I know, that was really stupid of me... but I've learned my lesson. Apparently that's still not good enough for insurance companies... damn satan's minions.
