dumb question - does this one have wifi? Also this is locked to verizon right? possible to unlock?

 

Not a dumb question! This one does NOT have WiFi unfortunately however it does have excellent 3G reception. Its locked to Verizon, yes. I dont believe you can unlock it due to the CDMA/GSM network differences.

 

Not true...the phone can be unlocked. I know people with S1's that are unlocked. One found a local guy on Craigslist to do it for like $20. Because its a world phone, it has a SIM card slot. The unlocking process tricks the phone into using the SIM instead of CDMA.

Though S1's do not have wifi, don't let that deter you. The Wifi on my S2 is not all that great. Range is still, and its not much faster than 3G...for me anyway.
