I have a slim PS2 first hand, modded and played for a while but don't really it anymore with work and school in the way. The mod is Swap magic 3.3 to play games, if you don't like your ps2 modded, you can remove the tab and revert back to normal. Tons of burnt games in a case including:

You can download games from the internet and burn them and play it on the ps2. I will show you how if you don't already know how to.
