To help you along with the sale, you may want to note that this is fully Backwards compatable (it can play PS1 and PS2 games), it also has 4 usb ports and digital media ports (sd cards, compact flash card, memory stick etc.)
Good luck with the sale.

the newer models (only the 80gb not 40) play a % of the PS2 games.

the chart attached was ripped from www.wikipedia.org

The primary use of the Emotion Engine was to serve as the PlayStation 2's CPU. The first versions of the PlayStation 3 also featured an Emotion Engine on the motherboard to achieve backwards compatibility with PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games. However, subsequent releases of the PlayStation 3, including the initial PAL release, dropped the Emotion Engine to lower costs. Instead, software emulation is used to allow backwards compatibility. (this limits the compatibility of all games)

I am not knocking you just trying to find out US equivalent pricing . Here in Canada a PS3 is $399 used games are $30 (X5) as well as a controller . So if it is $550 to buy new from a store in Canada where everything is a rip off , how much is it in the States?
