For sale is a 4.27 Torsen locking differential. This came out of my 1999 GS300. I used it for a few months but I'm now selling the car. It is originally out of a mid 90s Supra N/A. It will fit GS300s, 400s, SC300s and 400s. It is currently filled with RP synthetic. I am asking $800 obo shipped for it. I would like a MO is if possible to avoid the Paypal fees or add 3% for a Paypal payment. Please email me at csterry@clemson.edu if interested. I have two pictures of it.
I think the carrier will fit in your housing but I believe you have only one mounting ear whereas this one has two. Someone correct me please if I'm wrong.
being that its a torsen locking diff im 99% sure its an LSD (which stands for Limited Slip Differential, in essence it locks both wheels at a single rpm when one wheel loses traction. at least thats the easiest way to explainit.)
The Torsen LSD with 4.27 gears was an option on the Supra during the above years. Regarding swapping the entire pumpkin into a LS, I am 99% sure Modifyd's comment regarding compatibility with the LS is correct in that you would have to swap out the LSD and gears into the existing LS pumpkin. Search my thread below and I am sure you can confirm this 100%. Obviously the entire pumpkin is swappable with the GS. Lastly, just wanted to add that I LOVE my 4.27 gears in combo with a 20 wheel and now with the header install I am not having anymore rev limiter issues. Also, for those concerned with keeping their vehicle quiet, Torsen LSDs are nice as they do not make the chatter noise that clutch-type LSDs make. There are pros and cons to each and you can research below.
Good luck with the sale as this shouldn't last long.
