so you had one light ghetto tinted with vht and shop tinted them with much better materials and you want your money back? Maybe you should have asked the the shop what steps they will take and what products will be used, they did the work. As far as bubbles or flaws, then yes, I would take it back and have them fix it. The reason one light is hazy/murky is because most shops use reduced basecoat and then clear ,just like painting a car. Some basecoats can not be crisp, this requires some research to come up with one that works better.

Let me guess, by superior tint... Jason?
Yea my tint was done by them. I can also point out imperfections in my tint. Luckily Jason is cool and is going to fix the screw ups his tint guy did.
I had limo all around and 20% on my front windshield. I realize limo is hard to work with but I literally have 6 spots that are messed up and my entire driver window that has a 1/2" wide gap at the back of the window that meets the B-pillar

Better materials is an opinion.
For this particular application I believe VHT should have been used so that the lights don't come through as "hazy". Had I known they were going to paint this I would have asked them to not to.
I guess to answer your question, no. I don't want my money back. I want it fixed

Better materials is a fact, vht is rattlecan junk. I won't be surprised if this post disappears when I say that I own a shop and do all sorts of custom work for a living and know what I'm talking about.
I have no idea of what you have discussed with the shop and what they told you as far as the process goes and what exactly will be done, if you expected them to remove old rattlecan spray off one of the lights, maybe you should have asked them to. Or better yet, look at the invoice. Good luck

For this type of application and just about any good quality headlight or tail light tinting/smoking I use automotive basecoat, which is highly reduced and applied in 10-20 light coats and then clearcoated with high-solids clearcoat.

Well, since you mention there are bubbles,if I were you, I would have them redo the lights. There is no reason you should have to lose any money, especially that they are aware of you being OCD,lol.
I am confused though, did they smoke one of the lights over vht or you just compared the light with vht with the one that this shop smoked?
