Stupid question - why not hold this at an actual restaurant (sports bar) with outdoor seating? I realize people wouldn't be able to grill, but it would solve a lot of problems raised above (covered, TV's, etc..... ) .. just my $0.02

LOL! It's a BBQ, something we can all just sit back and enjoy, talk ****, look at cars... do whatever we want at anytime. I figure more people who are out of the usual will come and won't feel out of place unlike a bar or such. Plus like Mr. LRD said, we love our cars and like to keep an eye out for them.
I say being the generator and someone get a TV. We'll have a hell of a time, it will feel like we are at the stadium... well maybe not but the heat will feel the same!

In late October the avg temp is 82 .That's not so hot .And if you think that's hot .Then just do what I do crack one Beer after another...

That bbq was fun. I will come down to hang and eat some of Reggies cooking. Sat is better for me cuz I am a football junkie but I can sacrifice a Sunday and hang. If you guys bring a tv and gen. than we can watch the Giants aswell...Either day I'm in. I do think Sunday would be better with more people being able to attend and like someone mentioned it is going to get dark a lot earlier by the time this meets rolls around.
reggie , i started the debate because i have to work sundays for now ..
either day would work but aside from my work issues and just thought about going for a drive after the bbq , just something else to throw in the pot like go have some mohito's somewhere
but if its sunday , can you make start time around 2ish , it might be able to come if you guys start it later so i can leave work early

And it's a guy thing. We don't procrastinate we marinate!
Just checked with CB SMith, there is a pavillion available with shade tress around it for Nov 1st.
I'm going to pay for it tomorrow. WHen it's official, I'll post again but looks like 11-1 is the date.
