What clutch have you guys been running on your 2Js. Trying to decide which unit to buy, but don't really want to drop the dough on a twin disc. Just checking to see how your experience has been regarding crankwalk. I've been told by some that the ACT Extreme Pressure Plate is a big no no

My clutch switch has already been bypassed.

i use the act heavy duty pressure plate and act 6puck sprung disk .. it hold my 500 rwhp and 450 rwhp trp just fine , no sllippage

however its a slippable clutch from 1 st gear and very very little chatter .. i am going on 2 years already with this clutch

I think Stan has me convinced to go with a stock PP now and a 4puck disc from clutch house.

BTW Gerg, Those wheels look phenomenal with the white.

I've had a 6 puck unsprung with an a super high clamp plate so I'm not too worried about the grabbiness. With ceramic pucks they have such a high coeffiecent of friction that a high clamp load plate is not necessary. I've taken a standard ACT 6 puck disc with an OEM Diaken (mazda oem) plate and pushed it to 450hp without a single bit of problem. That same clutch has withstood over 200 passes at the track as well and is still going strong.

Would a higher clamp load make it grab harder, absolutely, but it also puts a lot more wear on the thrust bearings in both the trans and the block. For the $ I'm being charged to build the clutch, I couldn't say no. If I end up not liking it, its not that big of a loss.
