machine shop /engine builder call Bumper to Bumper, ask for Chris 407-830-7278. He has built over 100 2JZ motors, he did mine as well as Cowboy Bebop's car from Supra forums. If you haveany question who Cowboy is just look for the longest thread in Supraforums history, it's a crazy V8 Supra project, he also built a 8 second SC300 2jz (same motor as ours)

For a shop to install I highly reccomend Rick Bowers at Speedtech 321-544-3089

I used to own a high performance speed shop / dyno.. these are two good shops that I have used.

There is a mechanic I trust here in Oviedo, he used to work at my old shop. He works on cars out at a shop in Oviedo. I can get him to pull the motor and have Chris at Bumper 2 Bumper do the machine work. You will be in good hands and it wont cost you an arm and a leg like most other performance shops. Call Speedy at 407-209-8573, tell him Adam sent you. Speedy is an honest mechanic in the business and a good one too.

I spoke ot Rick, he said you called him. He's a bit too busy to take on a project like yours but I think Speedy will have the motor pulled 2 days after you drop the car.

I know Jim in Tampa / turbo toys, he's a good guy. I'm not sure who he uses for machine work though.

Like I said earlier, Chris at Bumper 2 Bumper is the only guy I would have work on my motor, any mechanic can R+R the shortblock, the important thing is who is going to be tearing down your motor and rebuilding it. Speedy is a good mechanic, he has all his ASE certs. I used to own a perforamance shop / dyno center called Auto Tuner, we built Hulk Hogans green Supra from stock as well as many others. Anyway you could probably get Speedy to do the labor for about 18 hours at $75 per hour or so, thats R+R shortblock, then about $500 for Chris to overhaul it, if you want to overhaul the head and do a valve job / replace the valve guide seals your looking at another $400-$500... Figure $350 for an engine overhaul gasket kit. I would get some good used GTE pistons/rods from Supra forums, thats what I did and it only cost $200.00 for the set, then another few hundered for Clevite bearings from Titan and new rings from Toyota, Chris does a mod to the oil pumps to increase the pressure which is good too. Now you have a 800RWHP capable motor.

Here is a video of my GS eating a 12 second Mach1 stang, it only had 400 or so HP now I'm up over 700 to the wheels. If you want to talk PM me and I'll get you my number. I'll help get your car in the right hands.

Default Bumper to Bumper completed engine, now installed

I took the Lex motor to Bumper to Bumper and Chris installed GTE rods and JE pistons, now ready for the next step of installing the turbo arrangement.

Any suggestions on who to use? Most local speed shops are unfamiliar with how to turbocharge a GS300.

Two of the best 2JZ Builders in south florida are

1. MTR - Manic Tech Racing in Hollywood, FL
2. Big Daddy Performance center in Davie, FL

Both are VERY experienced with 2JZ's and are basically all they build.

I'd think twice about leaving my car at MTR

As for Big Daddy PC, I've heard nothing but great things about him and his work.

I checked out Big Daddy, but they don't list GS300's on the site:

http://www.bigdaddyperformancecenter.net/index.html

JG doesn't seem to work on any GS's either, anybody with experience with 2nd Gen GS300's? mine is a 99

you took my advise on Chris @ Bumper.. now take my advise on bringing your car to Rick Bowers @ Speedtech, he has my GS300 right now, the guys is fantastic and he will bill you out much cheaper than Titan or the other big name shops. Call Rick at 321-544-3089

I've been in this game for 18 years, I used to own a speedshop / dyno center, I have yet to meet a guy like Rick. SOmeone who can fabricate, install stand alones, wire anything you need, tune, do mechanic work. The guy is 62 years old, is retiring as a NASA engineer.. ZGAD runs in the low 8's with his GTE 240Z car, thats Ricks work.
