We're going to see old battery packs used in grid storage from things like wrecked cars, and packs that have lost too much range but are still fine for general storage.

Someone fact check me on this, currently global car sales are 11% BEV. In Norway every 5th car on the road is a BEV.

https://norway.postsen.com/local/764...ctric-car.html

Now every fifth passenger car in Norway is an electric car

ONE IN FIVE IS FULLY ELECTRIC: In the run-up to Christmas 2022, the number of electric cars in Norway hit a round figure. Electric cars now make up 20 percent of the passenger car fleet in the country. Now it has just happened: Twenty percent of the Norwegian passenger car fleet is fully electric.

12/12/2022 08:40 | Updated 10:50

Do you think that is a lot? Yes, things have gone fast in recent years.

Or, did you think the number was much higher?

Then it is probably because electric car news is currently about electric cars dominating new car sales and then it is easy to believe that we have come further than we have in terms of the total Norwegian car fleet.

Updated with new service for Elbilforeningen members:

Many people can now see the car’s battery status in the ElbilAppen

Norway is far ahead

It was not long ago that Norway celebrated a ten percent electric car share of all registered passenger cars.

It happened in March 2020. It took just under three years to go from 10 to 20 percent.

The development from 0 to 10 per cent was much slower. That development took nearly 10 years.

– It is a fascinating adventure that we are part of here in Norway, says Christina Bu, secretary general of the Norwegian Electric Vehicle Association.

– The snowball has rolled faster and faster, and more and more great electric car models are rolling out on Norwegian roads.

I saw this news today on Tesla Daily. I think this comes from Norwegian government figures

Here's one for the books....the Tesla train

Tesla Delivery Train Spotted Carrying Ridiculous Load Of EVs

We typically see Tesla delivery trucks, but this train makes up for a host of car haulers. It's much longer than you might imagine

Folks I’d like this thread to be just about the polestar update and not a general EV chat thread.

Too much mixing and matching of unrelated topics, let’s keep it a bit more granular please. .

Update installed earlier this week. I haven't noticed anything different.
I think it was mainly for stability improvements.

I think it's also a prerequisite for the Performance update. I'm still waiting on that to be pushed out

The latest update seemed to fix the Fast Charging bug. I was able to hold to 102 kW with the ambient temp in the lower 40's. Also I noticed the heater heated the cabin much faster. Still waiting on the Performance Upgrade to be pushed! Can't wait for the extra HP! Don't need it, but still want it

Today the Performance upgrade was pushed to my Polestar OTA, and DAMN am I glad I bought it. Now at 476 HP/502 ft-lbs torque, 30 to 90 MPH happens so quickly it's head spinning. I really didn't need that much power and torque, but why not? It's going to really come in handy when having to merge onto the freeway or getting quickly around that slow poke hogging the lane. When going hard on the throttle you hear this whooshing sound, kind of faintly sounds like a turbo spinning up, but with no engine noise. I look forward to scaring my wife once....I'll only be able to get away with it once because if I ever do it again (or even mention doing it again), I'll probably be sleeping on the couch for the next few days...

Worth it.

How can people not love power increases "over the phone".

Do you mean the Performance upgrade, or scaring my wife?

Sounds like a blast. Merging onto freeways, passing, etc is pure joy in these electric rockets!
