I think it’s time for you to buy a Model 3 since it’s now eligible for $7500 tax credit and it looks like Performance model is under $54000. I don’t remember this model being this cheap. After gov rebate it’s $46000, it’s cheaper than Kia what the hell?

Yesterday a friend of the family who has a 2021 Polestar 2 just like mine (except with the Performance Package giving him 20" tires, Ohlin adjustable suspension and Brembo brakes) took his car in for his 2 year/20,000 mile maint. The maint basically consists of inspection of all the components, diagnostics, installation of the latest stable software that's not yet OTA (P2.5) and changing of the environmental filter that keeps the cabin air clean. Everything is good, brakes and rotors are still almost new (the tech told him to turn off One Pedal braking for a day to clean the brakes and rotors) and everything is functioning as it should. But the thing I am most interested in and focused on is Battery degradation. In 2 years and 22K, his battery has lost less than 4 percent capacity. Polestar told him that the battery pack will degrade and lose 1 to 2 percent roughly every 12,000 to 15,000 miles. What does that mean for an owner like myself? The Polestar will last 300K before it becomes uneconomical to drive. At 2 percent a year battery loss, in 10 years it will have lost 20 percent of its usable capacity.
That gives me a ton of piece of mind. In 10 years I'll be in another car anyways, retired and hopefully taking a bath in my gold bathtub. Just kidding, it will only be gold plated

As much as I love my Polestar, I've spent enough time with my brother in law's Model 3, and Tesla still makes the better car, especially when it comes to software and efficiency. Although Polestar is not too far behind. But Polestar is dedicated to EV's and my prediction is that they will give Tesla a run for their money in a few years

I agree with Teslas software being top notch. I think they're probably the best in it. But the build of their cars are far behind Polestar or even a regular car like an Accord. They don't have dealerships. They don't have a real interior. And that's done to cut the cost of Teslas, otherwise they'd be more expensive than they really are, which is already in Luxury car money territory.

Not true, their build quality today is very good when it comes to Model 3 and Y. I would compare it to Avalon/Camry build quality, all materials used are premium. Their interiors are also very good, see my review of my brother in laws Model 3. Not having dealerships is their strength, I will never buy a car from a dealership again in my life. Lastly they are not a luxury car brand, but that said, their Model S and X are very good and pretty comfortable. If I was spending $90K to over $100K, those are the two models I would buy
Finally installed a weather proof cargo mat in the rear trunk of my Polestar
I ended up buying a universal cargo mat and cutting it to fit. The fitted one from Polestar was overpriced, and Weathertec is still working on theirs. Now I don't have to worry about spills and the trunk carpet getting dirty
That's a good amount of space more than I was lead to believe.
The back seats also fold down, doubling the space. You can also remove the top lid, making more height. The Model 3 still has more trunk space, and way more frunk space. The polestars frunk is a joke
Polestar 2 VS Tesla Model 3. Which is the better car?
The Polestar 2 was Polestar's answer (sort of) to the Tesla Model 3. It comes in the Single Motor FWD 231 hp with 270 mile range, and the Dual Motor AWD 408 hp (476 with the Performance Upgrade) with 260 mile range. There is also an optional Plus Pack, Pilot Pack, and Performance pack. The Tesla Model 3 on the other hand comes with the Base RWD, AWD Performance, and Long Range (not available right now). Other than bigger 20" wheels, five exterior paint choices and two different interior colors, most of the upgrades are software (Enhanced Autopilot and FSD).
I've already done reviews of both the Polestar 2 AWD Long Range and Tesla Model 3 base RWD, so which is the better car? Although I love my P2, after spending a lot of time with my brother in laws Model 3, it's the Model 3. And here are the reasons:
Roomier front and rear interior
More trunk and Frunk space
Better software, better tech, and better built infotainment screen
Better front and rear seats
Simpler and cleaner cabin layout and design
smoother more efficient drivetrain
Better front view (amazing view of the road):
And lastly, a charging network that's 10 years ahead of everyone else
Anyway, IMO it's just an amazing vehicle
