LOL who cares how they look? They juice my baby which is all that counts! And yes, every parking lot should have solar powered awnings. SoCal gets a lot of sun, especially this part of SoCal so they probably generate a good chunk of the hospitals power needs throughout the year

There are about 8 to 10 of these solar panel covered parking shades just on this side of the hospital.
‘I was at Audi today. They are building something like this, for their customers to charge.

Right now my father is in the hospital in SoCal, I've been going there everyday, so decided to top off my Polestar
I hope everything works out with your dad

Well, I guess it was inevitable after making so many long distance trips

At least you can have that filled. I HATE the quality of automotive glass used now it's total garbage. 30 years ago some cars had nearly indestructible glass (two of my cars are like this).

It's soft now so you don't crack your skull in an accident

lol what? I would hope modern safety systems prevent that from happening. Unless you mean if someone runs you over.

Don't know that I'd agree. My grandparents moved to the Southern California desert in the 1980s. They had to replace their windshield 1-2 times per year until they passed about 10 years ago. Always due to sandstorm damage.

Both my old Toyota's have original glass, 30+ years many of those winter driven. Glass does not crack, rock chips never travel get them filled and done. Sand blasting effect no glass will stand up to that.

LOl I was joking 😂. It's so it doesn't shatter all over the occupants in an accident where the windshield is impacted. At least that is what I was told when I took traffic school after getting a speeding violation back in 2005

Thank you very much! No, I went to SoCal on Monday and stayed at my brother's house, they live 20 minutes from the hospital. I was going every morning to help out and make sure they properly take care of him. He developed a UTI which at his age can be a death sentence. He's still in the hospital, but I had to come back today as I'm working on a project at work. I was there all week.

I probably will have to go back at some point as he's better, but still in pretty bad shape. I'll probably fly next trip

Yesterday did a bunch of driving, so I decided to log my energy usage starting with my morning commute to see if anything has changed over a one year and 14,000 miles later. Yesterday I did about 37 miles, a combination of city and freeway driving. Speeds ranged between 50 mph and 80 mph. I even did a couple of pedal to the floor's leaving behind an F-150 that was for some reason riding my tail. Since temps are cold, heater was in use. The results are below

To put the numbers in perspective, a gallon of gasoline contains 33.7 kWh of energy, and my Polestar is consuming 32.4 kWh per 100 miles...over 100 mile per gallon! With 476 HP!! A Prius doesn't even come close. Blows my mind....

Crossing my fingers and hoping they do well this year. A 26 percent increase from Q1 of last year is a good start

Polestar Sold Roughly 12,000 Electric Cars In Q1 2023

The company aims for 80,000 units this year, which means that the volume must increase
