Tesla Model S Plaid
Actually, very little falloff until you get to less than 20% on the new Plaid. You can even do repeated runs one after another with very little falloff. People are getting 9.4s in the quarter at 50% SOC vs.9.2s at 90%. This thing was built to run fast consistently with the new cooling technology they implemented for this new battery module.
Drag Times was able to get 0-60 at 1.99s (with rollout) on surface streets! The best part of Plaid model isn't even the 0-60. The 60-130mph (the prior weakness of most EVs) is absolutely bonkers. The car will roast supercars on the highway with ease.

That's absolutely insane. I'm not a Tesla guy but I'll give credit where it's due.
Also, props for the display showing plaid just like in Spaceballs, now that is just plain hilarious and clever.
I'd really like to hear thoughts from Porsche engineers on the 60+ acceleration, though. They went with what they knew, which was to build a 2 speed transmission for their car, but I always appreciated the lack of interruptions from shifting in an EV and Tesla preserved that, here. I'm also guessing there will be more tweaks in an OTA, as they gather more data, aside from the upcoming 200mph unlock. At this pace, some exciting engineering will happen in the next decade, for sure.
That would be one generous person, but if you don't care for the speed, politely ask them for a Long Range model, instead. The good thing is that you don't really have to trade practicality for performance in either scenario.

car though, amazing!
He is unbiased though as he has a McLaren 765LT and a Ferrari SF90 coming so he races them against each other to see real world results (he typically rents out the strip). Honestly, I doubt I will ever get the Plaid Model S as I prefer smaller cars but its a treat to watch such progress in every generation of the vehicle. I'm hoping they release a Model 3 Plaid in the future which I'm more wiling to get due to its size.

So reading here that the Ferrari is the 2nd quickest car ever tested, but the Tesla Plaid is #1. Then I read the Tesla needs 15 minutes of battery prep. So if you need a battery prep for 15 minutes, it’s not the quickest car.

It will hit 2.2s without it and non-drag strip mode. A battery prep just means that it has to be at the right temp. If you drive to the strip and immediately run, you don't even need the prep because the battery is already warmed up. If you are driving in town and you put it in drag strip mode, it won't need the prep because the battery is already warm and it will hit the 2s.
The Ferrari will only run its numbers by getting it in launch mode. Most cars need to also warm their tires before they run to get maximum grip so they do a burnout before they do the strip. I bet if both Ferrari and Plaid line up at a light and both floor it, I'm pretty sure the Plaid will win due to the nature of EV power delivery and really doesn't need a launch mode to get great times.
Honestly, if I had a choice of buying either car, I'd definitely get the Ferarri....no contest
