2024 Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD has arrived!
Some final words on my recent trip to SoCal. The Model 3 is one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. I was blown away by not only it's efficiency at high speeds and how it handled winding roads, but it's power delivery, it's quiet cabin, and it's comfort. Due to how efficient it is, I was able to get much longer range out of it than my Model Y, and that translated to longer driving distances between superchargers. I spent a total of around 20 minutes each way at superchargers, and it took me about the same time to reach my destinations if I were to have taken one of my gas cars. And the total cost of driving nearly 800 miles was 0.46 cents a kWh, or $61. The cost of electricity is just way to high here in California, as one of my left leaning friends told me when we got into a discussion about the high price of electricity...bring back coal
Besides FSD being pretty amazing and taking a lot of the driving burden, the cooling seats were a blessing as well. It kept sweaty back to a minimum
. And they work really well, I had to keep them on the minimum setting so I didn't get to cold. I know ventilated cooling seats have been around for awhile, but they are a welcome addition, late or not.
My Model 3 is just an all around well rounded vehicle. It gives me performance when I need it, a smooth ride, comfort, and and is so freaking economical it's almost mind blowing. Couldn't have asked for a better car for my daily and occasional trip needs

Do you have free supercharging? When I got my recent Plaid it came with free supercharging even though I can count on one hand how many times I will actually use one. Since you travel so much it would benefit you.
I got three months free, now it's expired. The car is so efficient, this trip total charging cost was only $61. While I was in SoCal, I charged the rest of the time at my brother's house
Did anybody else's option to buy an extended warranty disappear from the upgrades menu? Says that my car and even my son's car are no longer eligible. Several friends have seen the same with their cars.
That totally sucks. It also gives me the message my car is no longer eligible. Freaking Tesla....
I'm totally convinced now that FSD is ready for prime time. My son was over the weekend and forgot to take his laundry with him when he went back to Berkley. My wife and I loaded it up in the Model 3, turned on FSD (I have the paid version of FSD until June 15th), and it flawlessly drove us an hour on some of the Bay Area's craziest freeways. At one point it avoided a cone that was laying in the left lane, and when traffic suddenly stopped in front of us my wife panicked and told me to hit the brakes...nope, FSD handled it better than I would have.
The latest update of FDS also made nagging much less of a thing. I was even able to pick up my phone, and as long as I didn't stare at the screen for long periods, it didn't bother me. I was really surprised about that, as on my trip it would warn me if it saw my phone even in my hand

Speculation is FSD 13.xx is old news Cybercab is running version 14. Which will come to all Tesla models with hardware 4. HW3 should be depreciated IMO but I think Tesla will try and make HW3 owners happy by doing HW4 retrofits.
So today three of my coworkers from accounting want to go to lunch, and I offered to drive, but one of them said she would drive. Then another one from the group asked me if I had FSD, and I said YES with a big smile, and she said, we are going with you! They all got excited because they've heard a lot about FSD, but never experienced it. Usually women don't find tech exciting, but here we are
