2024 Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD has arrived!
Congrats on the new purchase. I hope it serves you well!!
I think Bit loved the LC, but once you move to BEV, the vibe changes, at least in my case. After I leased my Polestar in 2023, there was absolutely no point in keeping my IS350, which I put a lot of my time, effort and money into, although I still loved the car. There's really no point for me buying another ICE. The ICE vehicles that give me the performance I want (like my friends M4 Comp) I can get for less than half the price from a Model 3 Performance. I can care less about all the options you get from the M4, which if I ever bought would just end up an expensive weekend car
Freedom from going to a gas station is highly under appreciated. Also it may take you 5 minutes to get gas (in reality longer but we'll go with it) you can't activate the pump and go do other things.

One thing that came to mind before I got the Supra, they say EVs are the future, well I can always get an EV later on down the road but Supras are a dying breed just like the LC may be.

lol
noticing a lot of EV drivers are leasing and not buying for the long term. EV vehicle designs are still very primitive in appeal

thanks. it's really a great car.
what i felt shouldn't influence you at all and i'm sure it doesn't.
and what i commented about gas cars applies to all of 'em.
i did post in the LC forum my comments about it... but in short, it's a wonderfully designed car with MANY unique touches and features. but i just rarely drove it. the long heavy doors of a coupe became unappealing, the low getting in/out for this tall guy wasn't appealing. the fact that i'd never use it for any 'trips' (too little space in it, why pay for gas when you don't have to? etc).
i'm not a collector of anything, and certainly not something as large and expensive as the LC. to have it sit there in the garage was just an irritant. it may well go up in value, but so will the proceeds from selling it.
i'm glad someone else will get to enjoy it.
true. the supra and LC are very different though. the supra is much sportier/capable. the LC has many exquisite design touches. i loved the CF roof, the largely absent plastic inside, the overall body design. and the mechanical variable ratio front and rear wheel steering to name a few.
the depreciation has been pretty steep and obviously with tesla raising and dropping prices frequently, a buyer never knows what they're going to end up with, so leasing is a great option plus the tax credit went straight into the lease with no hassle. also, a person can (now) buy the car at the end of the lease still for the "long term" as you put it.
you win most absurd (and wrong) comment of the day.
If you felt this about the LC, maybe I’m glad I didn’t get one!!😲👀

Personally I don't see the point in having two very similar cars, Ioniq 5 and Model Y are competitors and very similar. I'd have traded the Ioniq 5 for the MY and kept the LC, personally. Its one thing if you have two drivers and both prefer the same kind of car, but for just one driver the Ioniq 5 and the Model Y are really redundant IMO. I do however understand not wanting to have multiple cars when one doesn't get driven, like I have said before the mental load is a real thing.

Thanks Bit
It's ok, a little off topic is ok, until it starts taking over the thread, then I'll jump in.
Back to Model 3. Does everything I need. Commuter. Trip car. Sporty when I need it to be. And most of all, efficient and maintenance free. Every software update makes it better. Who would have thought that. I thank Elon Musk every time I get behind the wheel

Actually I do take owners’ perspectives and experiences into consideration before purchasing a vehicle as I did with the X7 from the community here (in car chat).
For me with the LC having a backseat would’ve been a plus for the extra storage or if really had to put a kid back there for a short drive but what ultimately made me go with the Supra was the aftermarket support it has. Sometimes I tend to grow tired of vehicles so that’s where aftermarket comes in to kind of give it a new feel (I installed an aftermarket pipe and piggyback tune few months after taking ownership).
For now, I use it just like I would if I had a LC, cruise and take road trips with my wife. I’ve promised her and myself I won’t track it but the boost is still fun.
