Rivian Ownership Experience Thread
part of the 'problem' though is the demand FAR exceeds the supply... but EA is working like mad to increase capacity and upgrade existing chargers.
so even as they expand and upgrade, the demand often causes issues on their network. but they are making progress.

it is definitely a testament to tesla's commitment, engineering, and implementation of their network that it's so good. but competition is good, and maybe EA is behind, but options are a good thing and even if every car could be charged at Tesla SCs, we still need more capacity and locations.

might want to look at data vs anecdotes and bad prior experiences.

The 2023 Impact report from Tesla had them at 99.97% uptime. I can't find any uptime figures for EA aside from them saying their next gen cabinets will meet the mandated 97% uptime. That 3% difference is significant
On Friday we are going on a trip to Santa Barbara, which is about 300 miles away. There is literally only 2 EA sites on the way, one in Goleta outside of Santa Barbara with 6 chargers, and one in North Santa Barbara with 4 chargers. All are showing "Full" in the app. The one in North Santa Barbara is past our destination, making it not very ideal for us. So we could take either the Polestar or Ioniq 5, but it wouldn't be ideal. Santa Barbara is a popular destination, so there is a large chance that the chargers are full. We could drive at night, but why?
If EA actually adds more charging sites, adds more chargers to their existing sites and they are reliable, then I will be onboard again. But until then, paint me a skeptic
Data doesn't mean anything to me when I go to an EA charger and it doesn't work. You can throw all the data you want at me all day long, experience is what counts, and mine is not good. I could throw lots of youtube videos and stories of bad charging experiences with EA, but it serves no purpose
On the Ford side, there have been few any NACS adapter shipments in July. Mine still shows as shipping in July (it was originally supposed to be May) but it hasn't sipped yet. I have the A2Z anyway, but keen to get the "official" one.
