I own 6 gas cars pretty sure I have a good sense of what is a more convenient vehicle is to own. But that's just me I don't consonantly try and berate people for their choice of owning a gas car.
Back on topic Toyota is getting flack because they are lying about real world usage of plug-in hybrids as explained in the article.

My issues with the fuel efficient PHEV's is that they don't offer the performance I want. My last gas car was a modded IS350 Sport, anything less than that performance wise is just a no go for me. Otherwise I have no issues with people preferring a PHEV or Hybrids, if they are fine with the performance, than Godspeed to them

That's why I don't knock anyone's choice to drive them. My reason is personal preference. BTW, the Ambien reference was just a joke, hopefully nobody was offended

The only exception is my low mileage 430. Oil change once a year at Lexus. It's only got 24k miles on it and I want to keep all the service with Lexus just in case I want to sell it one day.

according to redline reviews video, when driving an rx450h+ in 'EV mode' it has 179hp and the vehicle is 4800lbs, so it's very slow (0-60 in 10 seconds?). he also said it's good for 37mi, not 46. so while you love it's big virtue (long range) you're dragging around a huge/heavy ice engine and transmission. i believe the battery is 18kwh? so that means you're getting 2mi/kwh, which is bad.
glad you're happy with its compromises.

I have the exact same engine and battery as he does. My EV range is showing 53 atm. 0-60 in about 8 seconds give or take in EV mode. My 3rd Prius 10 secs 0-60 but my R4P in EV mode is definitely faster than the Prius.
Quick google search, a MYLR has a 81kwh battery. 75kwh is usable. So it’s hauling around 6kwh of unusable battery which is equivalent to 3.75 RAV4 hybrid batteries.
Ioniq 5 has 77kwh battery. 70kwh is usable. So it’s hauling around 7kwh of unusable battery which is equivalent to 4.375 RAV4 hybrid batteries.

My PHEV is .8 secs slower to 60 than your Y. How often do you go from 0-60 in 4.6 seconds? I can’t recall the last time I’ve floored it 0-60.
Its’s no different from putting anything else in your vehicle. Guess everything you put in your vehicle is a hassle. 🫣
