The Volkswagen ID.Buzz GTX

That's approx a stock Mustang GT back in the day. Lol
The EV van will be a hit, hoping.
They will probably sell everyone they make.
It has nostalgia and performance too.

My brother in law says is Odyssey has cylinder deactivation at highway speeds. Now it's reached over 200k and has all kinds of issues. It has some issue where it will no longer properly charge the battery, and it's not the alternator, so he keeps it on a trickle charger. Doesn't want to spend the money trying to figure out the problem, he just test drove an EV9 and that will most likely be the replacement for his Minvan

What year is his? Total mileage we're putting on it dropped significantly once we got the 3s. It's sitting at 42K almost 6 years in now. When it dies we'll see what replaces it. With the R1S we have our big car needs covered and with the added Tesla supercharger access will make it more viable for the times we do opt to drive instead of fly. Maybe I can talk my wife into a Porsche
If I didn't get the R1S, we would've gotten a Buzz. Whether it would've replaced the van or my 3P was up in the air but I would happily daily the Buzz if we owned one

quite seriously considering the iD.Buzz (not the GTX) as our grandparent mobile. All the indications are VW has done a great job with this. Saw a couple of the Euro market models when we over in Europe earlier this month and I think it looks phenomenal.

this looks GREAT. but i don't like the 200kw max charging or the interior, or what i've read about the control software (weak slow).
the seats and mechanisms look HUGE and might be great to remove all but front 2 and a third and make it a camper inside. you know it's going to be done

Reportedly the software is updated from the version installed in the ID.4 etc. As for charge speed, the charge curve is probably as if not more important than the peak rate. I've not seen any charge curve info yet so will reserve judgment (plus peak charge rate is irrelevant for home charging which is where almost all of our charging takes place). And the interior in those pics isn't the best. The non-GTX color-coordinated interiors look great IMO.

Well it must always be a combination of both factors. A decent peak rate doesn’t do much for you if it can’t be sustained for long, so you need to see the real world results before passing judgment. My Lightning, for example, when on a powerful charger will start with a charge rate that’s quite a lot higher than its supposed peak charge rate per its official specs ( which leads owners to conclude that Ford can unlock a better charge curve in future).

I started watching a 3-part Jacksonville to San Diego road trip from the guys at Out of Spec and it's interesting because they've got the Cybertruck which has a great early charge curve (~250kw), but falls off around 35-40% vs. the F150 Lightning which can maintain its charge curve at 100-120 kw range up until ~80%. This is after the F150 got access to superchargers so the network advantage is pretty small between the two. They've also got an R1T and Silverado EV in the mix as well but the guys in the R1T just seem grumpy and the Silverado EV is all about massive legs with its big battery.
