The power train didn't really need improvement. How do you make those motors any better? The real goal IMO is efficiency, reducing nvh, and adding features. Mission accomplished. It along with the Model Y will continue to be the best selling cars

At least squeeze out another 5% somehow. Battery pack is no biggy since Tesla is always making chemistry improvements that can happen at any time.

I do like the over aesthetic it instantly makes the old model seem dated. No stalks will anger some people but this is the way IMO. I'll give Tesla an 8.5 could have been a 9.5 coming with better motors, more power more efficiency. Easily the best looking EV sedan but I'm biased.

Seriously? I watched a Model 3P annihilate a Hellcat. Absolutely annihilate it. Really? How much more do you want??

According to a couple reports efficiency increase is ~10% that's probably beyond what you can get from just aerodynamics and tires. Have to wait for Tesla with official specs/info.

Squeezing 5 percent more is easy with the current batteries and motors, change some 1's and 0's. With the present performance of the current lineup, Model 3 RWD, Model 3 Long Range AWD, and Model 3 Performance, There's really no need to get into Plaid territory. The Long Range and Performance Models are seriously fast enough. And if you bought a Long Range and decided later on you need more power, there is always the $2K upgrade option. I feel they went the right direction and made the car more efficient, the cabin more quiet, tweaked the suspension and added a screen in the back (plus some tweeks of the seats).

They made several interior improvements, which Car Wow points out in the video. Mostly refinements

No way is Tesla going to mess with the basic formula, evolution of the current look n feel is the right move. My biggest criticism of Hyundai/Kia is they have no unified decor a refresh can look like a totally different car from a different company. Take Polestar, you know instantly when you see one and a new model immediately looks like a Polestar. It's the Apple approach.

Lex2K described this new 3 powertrain as a 'major fail' which seems like quite a strong statement.

but moving along... i think this upgrade seems like a good way to improve 3 sales globally. in the u.s. it probably won't be as important given how suv mad it is here.

I watched the video and I’m pretty impressed. I thought all of the changes were good and the most important thing with the improvements is the price stays the same which is greet for a buyer though not so great if you just bought one.

Price will very likely be higher.

I stand by what I said the motors should have been updated. Tesla has a pile of cash sitting around, use it.

New Model 3 is up on Tesla China website
