Also, I got my bonus today it was 25% short because of the market volume, I expect everybody who was concerned about Elon’s package to be incredibly upset and incredulous that they would do something like that to me.

PM me for addresses you can write to lol
but you still got 75% of your bonus, elon musk got nada.

I only read one article on this and it didn’t say much but it sounds like the board or comp committee approved his comp plan back in 2018 and since it was incentive based comp tied to the stock price at the time and certain goals to achieve it may not have been too outrageous based on where the stock price was back then. Problem is since the stock price skyrocketed way more than anyone probably imagined, it looks outrageous. Just seems kind of BS denying it even though it seems outrageous.

Putting the comp package to the side, as well as Musks colorful personality and sometimes questionable antics, it's true that Elon wasn't a Tesla founder, but he built that company to what it is today. For that, he has my utmost gratitude, because while others abandoned BEV'S, he doubled down and did what most would consider impossible, make EV'S mainstream. Love him or hate him, I have to respect what he's done for the automotive world

not just the automotive world. the large scale battery systems, the solar roofing tiles, the re-usable space ships which have revolutionized space travel bringing its cost down ENORMOUSLY, and more.

as patgilm eloquenty stated... the giant goals tied to compensation in 2018 seemed wild but were achieved. i don't care if that meant musk was paid a trillion dollars. that's how capitalism is supposed to work. big risks can bring big rewards. the whining of 'not fair' and 'too much' and board manipulation should be thrown on the garbage heap with socialism and communism.

i once debated who had done more for the world, mother teresa, or bill gates. it was a no brainer.

I think what @patgilm said makes sense. The compensation package was tied to stock prices in 2018, and as we know, the stock has exponentially shot up. It's kind of like if I owed someone 10 Bitcoin that was .10 cents, but today it's $67k. Regardless, I owe him 10 Bitcoin. Lex had mentioned something to the effect, but he didn't say it as clearly. Sorry Lex 😁

Regardless, the ruling was made, fairly or unfairly not much any of us can do about it

I was fully on board with your argument until Bill Gates you will not find a more despicable human being. Microsoft stole almost every idea they profited from. Office is a total rip off of WorkPerfect and Lotus. Windows for 15+ years was an unreliable piece of crap cobbled together with concepts stolen from GEM, AmigaDOS, Apple and others. The lost productivity from Windows failing likely cost businesses trillions. And it gets even better, Billy decided he is a climate and medical expert he is neither.

Bill Gates famously shorted Tesla stock the same man that preaches to everyone we face extinction if we don't reduce carbon. You don't short the stock of a company that actually helps reduce carbon unless you are a con artist. He also famously said the Tesla Semi was impossible. And there are so many other things he's involved with that we can't get into here.

You should feel bad for putting Bill Gates on even the smallest pedestal.

Elon must has absolutely not gotten nothing, how do you think he is worth $210B if he has been paid nothing? They will work out a compensation agreement that is agreed to by a board that isn’t under the control of the person who is getting the bonus. Thats the issue, not the money.

Even if he gets or got nothing though, I couldn’t possibly care less…he will be fine.

It takes a lot of skill to steal someone's ideas and make billions from them. plus, I owe my whole IT career to Windows. Fixed a lot of blue screens 😁

I was on the Bill Gates train until I found out he was a serial harasser. Having seen sexual harassment throughout my career, that's something I can't stomach

Gates is a brilliant business man but extremely ruthless. It was pure genius on his part to license out Windows, IBM was so dumb they should have demanded a license from Microsoft to install on IBM hardware. Back then IBM had all the clout and they blew it. Gates has mastered the act of being the, aw shucks I'm just a lowly guy doing my best and making the world a better place. The guy is snake.

Of course, but don't tell me at times Microsoft's issues didn't annoy you to the point of pure rage. I will say, Microsoft's dev tools are excellent hate to admit it but I grew to love Visual Studio. I made some incredibly complex and powerful applications, looking back at them now I wonder how I did it.

We can't talk about it here, but his wife left him for shall we say Bill's questionable acts.

Back to Tesla I have a feeling the stock is going to take an epic beating in the next few months.

The issues were definitely annoying, but many of the issues were related to having to run on multiple vendor hardware. Some of the worst issues were related to drivers. On the server side, Windows Server from NT on were pretty solid due to OEM versions built for specific hardware and well written Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL). Today we run over 160 laptops running Windows 10/11 and over 15 servers with almost no issues.

I can definitely foresee TSLA taking a beating for some time. I recently picked up about a little over $5k of TSLA at $190, my wife is pissed. I keep telling her that you have to sit on it for awhile, but she's not very patient

Go back a few versions, Windows was trash. At one time I was running the beta of Windows 2000 because I couldn't take the blue screens anymore. Windows NT saved Microsoft.

I keep buying the dip and rarely selling during euphoria what's wrong with me. I keep saying it I have so much regret for not being able to see the future think I have a problem. I feel that way because on some level I know for example buying Nvidia stock. But I was too chicken to go all in.

Fun fact: in 2013 I was bitcoin mining back then it was an utter disaster. So much fraud and trying to connect to a node was iffy at best. I gave up after 5 coins and change I could have been insanely wealthy if I had just kept going. I think it took almost 2 years to mine 5 coin, a bunch of CPU cycles were wasted due to connection issues and other nonsense.

Speaking of Nvidia, I usually don't look at my IRA much but I have a bunch of stocks in there and I thought I had Nvidia and I do! My advisor bought close to 100 shares at $65 back then, pretty decent return. The one stock that I still kick myself for not buying was Chipotle, back when they had some issues with people getting sick (around 2019 I think) the stock dropped from nearly $500 a share to around $250 and I was going to put $20k in it and my advisor said agreed it was a good buy but my wife didn't want me to do it, go look at what the stock is now.

Most successful businesspeople are ruthless, Elon Musk is pretty darn ruthless too, but you love him...if they weren't ruthless they would not be successful.
