I agree in principle that the SC rollout shouldn't slow down for a bunch of reasons stated multiple times already.
Having said that, I disagree that's it's pretty bad or next to useless every where else other than California.
Here's how many SC's are within a 60 mile radius of where I live as an example

Not sure how big of an area this is, but here's what comes up for Tesla SC's close to Charlotte .The numbers are charging stations not occupied at a SC site a min ago
Now first moves have started, there have been confirmations of Tesla cancelling new SCs in New York, 3 new locations were cancelled in the middle of the build out.
New York area has been having issues with lack of available stalls due to large influx of ev drivers, which is why these were prioritized.

Car manufacturers can't contact anyone at Tesla anymore, in the middle of transition to Tesla plug. Tesla was late on some promises they made on high voltage charging. Some manufacturers are rethinking their commitment, and Germans are deciding if they want to reverse theirb decisions.
They actually fired all of the supercharger team.

I'm just curious as to why... there has to be a reason. Again working for startups for almost 25 years, I've seen entire departments abolished overnight and projects almost at the end of the tunnel abruptly cancelled. I don't know, maybe if we look at Tesla sale numbers state by state, country by country we will get the answer. It definitely does seem a little odd

Apparently you think Elon made that happen, so Elon might be now answering emails from all the manufacturers and utilities and construction companies, since he did all the work.
It is crazy to even justify this as normal.
Normal would be cutting even majority of people and other workers stepping up.
Having everyone cut means you are stopping SC development, you are instilling fear in your partners and you look like a child to everyone who are now doubting can they trust you to do business with you.
