I don't think the difference between the 5th and the 6th generation Hybrid is big, just like the difference between 4 and 5 is minor. The hardware is the same, they just did some software update on energy management.

I disagree. The current ES 2025 is generation four and it skipped to generation six in the eighth generation hybrid. If you look at the numbers of torque ,the motor output, etc. you’ll see that it is a pretty decent jump. Also the battery possibly got a little bit bigger in order to make that big of a jump. If you compare it to the 2026 Camry numbers you could see it a difference from even that as well. But unless you get into the nitty-gritty of the specs, it does make it hard kind of to see. If it was just a little bit of a change for software, then they wouldn’t call it a sixth GEN.

New motors, new cooling system, integrated eAxle for the AWD version. There are many hardware improvements. But yeah, in true Toyota fashion they’re incrementing their way into maintaining hybrid leadership. The fundamental system design is the same.

Good. Now, can you tell me the difference between G4 and G5?

Oh goody, a test of my knowledge lol OK I'll play
Well, there is a more powerful engine in GEN five then there is in GEN four. They changed from nickel metal hydride battery to a lithium battery, in terms of transmission there was a shift to direct shift CVT, and for all wheel drive the torque output for a GEN five is doubled than in GEN four...And that's just to name a few things.

Did I pass?
