Live TV on an ES Navigation Screen
I have a 2021 ES here in the UK.
Most things are possible but this one is a challenge to crack. Does any of you guys know a way of bringing live television from an IPhone onto an ES screen?

Too many drivers are distracted as is and the last thing an automaker needs is to let them stream tv/movie into their vehicle infotainment screen while in motion. Someone probably found a hack but it would be illegal as heck operating it on public roads.

All wise words and the police and courts would take a severe view if caught using this in motion.
Interestingly, using a hand-held cellphone while driving here in the UK attracts a substantial fine however on my (pre-Covid) annual vacations to Florida I see many drivers doing just that.
The touchpad issue is also a distraction - even more so if one is right-handed and driving a UK car with the steering on the right.
My question remains.

I think Japan has been doing live TV broadcasts in their cars for a couple decades now. it's the norm there. I guess they use it responsibly.
In terms of our cars, I think what you mean is "mirroring" there are companies that make modules that allow it but 1) it's expensive and 2) I doubt you'll be able to DIY it so that's more cost.

Here's a YouTube video showing how it should work in the UK for live TV:

Thanks to you all for your interest and responses. In particular to grp52 for his steer to a UK company here in Poole on the south coast who market a box which allegedly does the job but alas, it's a matter of jam tomorrow - they have no stock due to the worldwide chip shortage.
I spoke with Tim in Sales and he explained how it works. It tethers to a mobile (in my case an iPhone) which is set up as a hotspot and fools the car's system into thinking it has a Carplay connection. Therefore any content, including live TV can be presented on the navigation screen. Presumably it takes care of sound as well. The box is manufactured in Korea and costs £299 Stirling - equivalent to 390 of your US dollars.
Tim said it has not been tested by them on a Lexus and unlikely stock will become available until 2nd quarter 2022 so I guess I will have to wait until then.
