And everyone will agree that the touchpad is the superior input

Agree with options. I even use the Carlinkit Tbox Plus for my 12.3 screen but mainly for trips.

Nope. I hate touchscreens and I’m not a fan of the newer remote touch pads neither…give me the old, Gen 6 remote touch screen “mouse” every time. Generalizations are always dangerous! 🤫😂

I have a 2023 with the 8" touchscreen. I didn't want to buy an older gen at the time and I specifically avoided 2022 and prior in current gen due to the lack of wireless CarPlay and touchscreen. Last year my son bought his first car - a 2013 ES 350 (UL with all the options). Has high mileage (160k), but was meticulously maintained by a car enthusiast (guy has his own triple garage with car lift in it and documented every single maintenance). I still shake my head when I see him pull up with it - that 13 year old car with 160k miles is better in almost every way to my 2023 with now 26k miles on it : ( From the paint quality, to the interior, etc. But of course, the old school LCD or whatever that screen in his is is bad. BUT, I was shocked when I tried out the manual mouse thingy (not sure what it's called) used to navigate the system. It's actually darn useable and nice.

For what it’s worth I prefer the 8” screen as I find the 12.3” screen too distracting.
