Curious to see the change in resale value for the 7th gen now that the 8th gen seems to be unpopular.

Too bad they couldn't keep it alive, Camry or IS style. Would've been cheaper (and way way nicer) than whatever contraption the 8ES is, unless the 8ES is just a re-hash of some international model itself.

I'd honestly rather have a new Camry vs the 8ES. The new Camry at least looks sleek and polished.

What sedans remain that don't have a turbo, no auto start/stop and are not hybrid? I won't even ask about a V6.

Well my 2019 turned 7 in December and I have no plans to sell it and move up to a new 2026 vehicle - Lexus or not... I have already crossed the ES off the list and if I was forced to buy another car it would probably be a used ICE vehicle from Lexus, Genesis, or Acura. Not a lot of choices folks...

The demise of the V6 is a big disappointment and will be missed by many drivers. I'm keeping mine...

I'm still shopping for the perfect ES300h Ultra Luxury. Maybe I'll get lucky and come across the last one! Lol.

It took me almost five years to get the color/trim I wanted in an 300h. I started looking in 2019, and couldn't find the car we wanted until 2024! With the 8-gen, I hope Lexus does better at manufacturing the colors/trims people want. I'm not too worried about future engine offerings, as long as the engines are reliable. I just worry that newly adopted tech, like turbos, won't withstand the test of time as expected from Lexus.

Wow 5 years! Were you shopping for both used and new, or only new? The waiting, searching, and hunting is part of the fun for me. I don't need another car. I actually don't even want another car. But I feel like the 2019-2025 ES300h is another Lexus you never regret buying.

Originally, we were shopping for both new and used. Then, after Covid, used car prices spiked and supply was low, so we concentrated on new. But, it seemed like all the product was going to rest the of the country, south, east, mid-west, and not to California. Eventually, the color and trim we wanted migrated west, and we found the exact car we wanted in Fremont. Unfortunately, because of low supply and high demand, we had to pay MSRP!

I agree that the hunting is the fun part, but this was ridiculous--frustrating, not fun! I also agree with "no regrets" buying the 300h. We've had it two years this May, and love almost everything about it. If I had to complain about something, it would be the small, 12-gallon fuel tank. We get almost twice the mileage of our previous gas-only ES350, but don't get to fill up half as often because of the tiny tank. I would have loved more range!

More than the end of the 7th generation, it marks the end of the 35-year ES tradition. Farewell to smooth V6 power, understated styling, luxurious leather and fine wood. In all the ways that have always identified the car, the 2026 Lexus large sedan is not an ES.

Exporting a garish Asian EV/HEV to the States and slapping "ES" badges on it does not disguise the closing of the ES era. ES buyers became old, the American sedan market has become globally irrelevant, and this is the result.

Sad how the cars that made Lexus, LEXUS are both gone.

No more LS (V8 RWD) and ES (V6 FWD).
I understand the RX helped send Lexus sales to the stratosphere, but I am so sick of crossovers.

There are UX, NX RZ, RX, TX, GX and LX.
Ugh... Crossover/SUV fatigue.
