The transaxle model is also different than any transaxle used in a Prius. The Lexus ES 300h uses the P710 transaxle, which hasn't ever been used in any Prius model according to the TOYOTA-CLUB. net's Toyota Hybrid - Transmissions line-up (scroll down about one-third of the page for the P710 entry).
Obviously the components are different. The P710 is mostly just a beefed up P610 from the Prius4.
The point was just that current Toyota hybrid system didn't evolve all that much in the last 10 years, even more so for our 7th gen ES.
