Default Jerky Trans Fixed, I think

Re 2020, few days ago for kicks and giggles, I tried operating in Eco mode. No more jerky shifts when accelerating from rolling stop. Feels like I am driving with emergency brake on but better than jerks. I always heard Sport mode reduces jerks but never had much luck with that.

I have tried them all ECO, Normal & Sport. No jerks in any of these but the tranny shifts more aggressive from E to S. ECO is baby gentle shifts to mild for me. My happy setting for city mostly is Normal. Mpg about the same as ECO for my drive style. On long trips would probably leave it in Normal since would be in 8th gear and seems to me ECO wouldn't make a difference.

From reading the posts I do not stomp on it so not noticing the jerk shift.. My drag race days have been over awhile. But will do a few stomps and report back.

I prefer the jerks than the lifeless throttle in ECO or even NORMAL.

I'm starting to play more with sport mode. I'm pretty sure the hesitation when smashing the gas pedal is less evident in sport mode.
That's my biggest complaint about the 8 speed, the delay when stomping on it.
The problem is that around here stomping on it means zipping from 25 to 35

Good chance I will eventually conclude the same.

and after seven years of ownership, I learned ways to avoid the jerking plus most of my driving is freeway making it a non issue anyway.

I’ve got a 2021 that I thought was missing on light acceleration but maybe it’s the shifting? We only use normal or sport mode.

This is not true I've tried Eco before it will still jerk, you just haven't seen it yet, wait until you see it again lol. No mode can remove the jerk.

Maybe with ECO, the jerk is worse since the car barely moves?

My guess is that it will take some time for the car to learn your new driving behaviors, whether in ECO or others mode, and the horrible down shift jerk issue at low speed/gear will happen again. This clearly a software issue I don't know why they can't fix it.

When my car was brand new (first couple months of ownership) I did feel a downshift jerk when going really slow coming to a complete stop. I only felt it maybe 3 or 4 times. It was like someone was hitting the brakes hard but was the transmission coming to a near or complete stop.My only existing complaint is delayed engagement upon hard acceleration.

"delayed engagement upon hard acceleration" This is the jerk shift in nicer terms. Ease into the gas pedal and it will never happen.

My ‘21 stutters on moderate acceleration.

If you ever tried to exit from 93S onto 213E in MA during rush hour, you'd see why easing into the gas pedal is not always the best option
Picture two different highways merging into the exact same short exit ramp where cars are forced to cross paths at random speeds into a tight X pattern to switch highways.
Let's just say not everybody plays nice and whoever doesn't blink wins.

Be aware that these transmissions like to be reset when new owner steps in.
