ES 350 2023, UAE Version, Touch Up Paint on RIM Possible?
Hi All, I have the 2023 ES350 and scratched the rim slightly. The color of the rim is silver with slight gold in it. It's like the picture attached.
The people in the local market have no clue. unfortunately.
You could try to use touchup paint but it usually doesn't blend in well. Contacting a Lexus dealer and giving them the VIN should tell if touchup paint is available. have you tried using rubbing polish on the scratches?

The Lexus ES 2019 alloy rim color code thread was a search for the wheel touchup paint you're looking for but a definitive answer wasn't found.
mikeraj's post #14 in that thread is worth a look. In Dubai if there's a paint store, auto paint shop, or similar type venue with a paint color scanner and paint matching recommendation system have them scan your rim and see if they can get a color matching paint recommendation.

Attached is the actual picture. I doubt a polish will work.
Initially it was a very small scratch. like two dots.
I took it to a wheel guy and he sanded it down and spray painted it. Looked horrible.
He then tried to polish it and the spray paint came right out. his sanding it down made it look like this now. I shouldn't have touched it.
It's definitely worse. That would drive me crazy too.
It is. I've been going places to get this fixed since the past two days. Friday, people go home. Today the lexus body shop is open but the person who can look at this and get it fixed is off. I drove almost 2 hours one way to get this addressed. My luck is really bad and I'm not getting any headways.

Thanks for the post. From what I see ID7 is a possible match. I've ordered it from Amazon US to the UAE through drop ship. Let's see what comes out of it.

1D7 SHADOW PEARL SILVER
...
From mikeraj's post #14:
... do a color matching of the rim. The original 1D7 looks bluer compared to the rim color. The original 1D7 without the violet was a good match.
I interpreted that as the unaltered 1D7 isn't quite an exact match.
In mean time while you're awaiting your Amazon drop shipment, you may want to call around to local auto salvage yards/shops to see if they have any undamaged Lexus ES 18 inch noise reduction wheels available from wrecked 7th generation ESs. If one does and the price is reasonable then you'll know you have a backup plan in place in case the 1D7 touchup paint repair doesn't turn out well. (At least what a Google search shows, there are auto salvage yards in the UAE but beyond that I don't know if used parts sourcing is a component of your local UAE auto salvage business operations.)

Some background about this place. I live in Abu Dhabi and Dubai is the next city to Abu Dhabi. It's about an hour and a half drive. There are luxury auto showrooms and repair shops in both places, however, the secondary fix market is primarily located in Dubai which provides a better service. Abu Dhabi has a market that does these fixes but it's an extremely low grade. For them, silver spray paint like how it was done should suffice. It's like the Mexican mafia here but just filled with Egyptians and Jordanians. Most of them don't speak English well. The auto market is packed in an area called Mussafah. Once you get there it looks like a GTA Auto game with all 1980's cars in repair shops and 1990s Audi's with their engines out. It is depressing to say to get anything fixed. I have extensive stories about me trying to get my Audi fixed in such places but it's needless to say all of my adventures in getting anything done at this place have been a clear failure. Unless I head to the agency of Audi or Lexus.
Now dealing with a salvage garage in this place will be a negotiation of a different level. I am positive, that even if they say that the part is brand new and perfect, you can almost be assured up to 95% that what they are saying is not true. All they want is that you come over there and look at their part and they will try to convince you to sell stuff. For them, the minor scuff is non-existent. a perfect perfectionist's nightmare.
I am trying to find a few good ones in Dubai such as black diamond auto service etc but they are usually closed on weekends and this takes about a few days of a job. I am contemplating just buying a new one and getting this over with but in the long run, this is not a solution. There must and should be a fix for this. don't you think?
Hope you enjoyed the elaboration of the low life of the repair market here.
