Dealer said they will be happy to program any key purchased from Lexus but they can't confirm which ones will work :/

Does anyone have a Card Key with a 2021, 2020, 2019 ?If so can you tell me the part# of the FCC on the back?
Thank you!

The FCC and other things printed on the back of the key card is not going to help you get a key card that is compatible with and can be programmed into your 2021 ES 350 F Sport.

Look at the photos (front, back, and back with mechanical key) of a 2023 ES key card mistakenly posted in the 6th generation ES forum, Reprogram 2014 ES 300h Key Fob post #11. If you search for those numbers printed on the key card's back you're going to find quite a range of key cards with those numbers printed on the back. Many of which are known to be incompatible with this generation of ES immobilizer system because those key card are advertised as compatible with previous generations of ES and other Lexus models that are known to be incompatible with this generation of ES's immobilizer system.

You're a legend if you get it to work. I asked 3 dealerships for my 2020 ES and they all said not possible. However, I suspect it's simply because they couldn't find it in the system.

That belief is further increased after I recently got a 24 ES300H loaner and it had the illuminated trunk sill in white with the ES300H logo. I asked them if I could buy it but they said the part did not exist in their system, then I showed them the picture of the loaner that was sitting outside and they were like, oh, sometimes parts take awhile to show up.

I've been following this thread since it started 2 years ago. Without going back and rereading the thread, my recollection is that, despite many heroic attempts, no one has succeeded in getting a keycard to work on a 2019, 2020 or 2021 ES. Is my memory correct? Or has someone succeeded?

And why do you think that part might be a winner?

All the "WHAT THIS FITS" checks on that part number shows it fits only four LX 750 variants between model years 2019 and 2021.

And that's why I posted the FCC ID on the back of a Lexus key card will be of no help in finding a key card that works with your 2021 ES 350 F Sport. That same FCC ID number is used for Lexus key card for Lexus vehicles separated by a decade's difference in model years using different, incompatible immobilzer systems using different communication security protocols.

There's a non-zero chance that they used the same exact corresponding part(s) on the LX as the ES for 19-21. I say let the guy give it a shot!

So I found a thread where RX2016+ Owners were trying to get the smart key and found that 2022+ HYQ14CBM => 8990448X71 / 8990448X70 worked for them BUT the 2021,2020,2019 the car refused the recognize it. Someone found tried the HYQ14CBK - 89904-48Q90 and VOILA it worked for everyone and a bunch of RX owners 2021,2020 and 2019 got it working.

What is also awesome is the RX has the SAME FCC ID : NI4TMLF15-1 for the onboard transmitter.

So I think it's a good gamble. I just need to find a dealership/store with a return policy so I can try programming it. + Another 35$ down the drain to get a techstream code calculated for me to program.

Well... the MSRP for that particular key card is $310.45 (but can be found at a discount for $229.57) so, sure, if garagemon wants to keep on spending that kind of money trying different key cards to try to find one the might eventual work I have no problem with that as long as garagemonk is aware the chances of success is slim to none for the next key card candidate he's proposing to try.

Also, keep in mind with this generation ES's immobilizer system only brand new, never programmed into an immobilizer system key fobs/key cards will work. So, all the cheaper, discounted used, refurbished, unlocked key cards you can find for sale are not an option and you're forced to buy the more costly brand new, never before used key cards in the quest for a key card that'll work for garagemonk's 2021 ES 350 F Sport.

If @garagemonk pull this off, I'm sure some will follow the same rabbit hole. Nevertheless, It will be a great satisfaction if successful.

Lexus/Dealers should make this more friendly for their customers as any trim, including base, can have this added as an option.

Good luck GM!

The illuminated trunk sill will probably fit all ES trims. It connects to the regular trunk top light so no special trim connector is needed. It's a good addition that enhance the Luxury feel to the trunk; and as a bonus more night visibility via 2 separate additional integrated trunk lights.

Sometimes sales representative just don't want to put the effort or they really don't know much about the trims and parts they sell. Sometimes independently branded part stores are more knowledgeable about this. I had once a Toyota dealer tell my DW that a Rack & Pinion for a spare vehicle had to be completely replaced because a bushing was damaged and that part was not available separately for that model. We went to an independently Toyota store and the manager told us the part from another year/model was 100% compatible and was only about $15 (original Toyota part).

There's no better wager than successfully accomplish a solution to a problem. I really like the convenience of the smart key card, and if my ES300h had come without it, I'll probably be deep into this thread.

@grp52 has a very good technical point and understanding of the issue. Basically you are against the odds without help from the dealer.
But I'm rooting for you!
