Default 2024 es discussion (merged threads)

I saw a video online showing some pictures of the 2024 ES.

Taillights are different and this one has a two tone paint.

Is this real?

Same car except for black top and spoiler. Don’t care for the two tone. I know Toyota’s doing it on Corolla. Detracts from rich look of the 350 ES.

Taillights are interesting.

Hope the spoiler is optional and not forced on us.

my assumption is that spoiler would be on certain styles only, if history is to continue....

I don’t think this is real because it is the same exept for the lights.

I expect this to be a redesign and nothing else.

One ray for the redesign (whenever it actually happens) is that atlas some car makers, especially Asian, are finally again starting to put more padding in their seats, a common complaint of many of us. Mazda and Nissan have been doing better and getting praised for they seat comfort, and now the new Toyota Grand Highlander has seats that are thicker than I've seen in years. The even look comfortable, at least in the top trim. Hopefully this trend will expand and Lexus will adopt it!

I don’t think the front wheels and the rear wheels are the same.

that black top thing is a little thing all the little kids are doing with vinyl across all makes of cars. it's a bit obnoxious. it's so evident it's amateur, it's silly. they're trying to play designer. i don't mind people playing around but the way it's done as in the photo above is really not well done. the panels were not designed with the silly way the patterns are being done by kids. (this goes for all brands of cars) making things black using existing body lines doesn't make you much of an artist! leave that to the pros who mull these decisions over in groups and groups of seasoned veteran experts!! (all brands!!)

So no, some kid grafted 5RX lights and some kind of headlight onto a poorly modded 7ES using photoshop--could also be some silly dealer option. ive seen one dealer do such a silly vinyl job in Arizona then charge $5,000 for it.

The last car that I had with two tone was a '77 Grand Prix. It looked good on that car - it's laughable on the ES.

I suspect they vinyl wrapped in gloss black the pillars because the panoramic sunroof is already gloss black?
There are possible aftermarket version of 7ES taillights that resemble 5RX, else the photo or video is PhotoShopped.

Why are people expecting a redesign for 24 when the new model comes out in 25 and there has already been a mid cycle styling refresh?

I was wondering the same thing. Reports are that the '24 model year won't even run a full year, because the eighth generation '25 ES will come out around November 2024.

Wishful thinking? Some of it is just rumors and people were expecting it for 24. Personally I’m not in a hurry to see the new model, for it will have a turbo-4 and no more V6. I also worry a bit that the car will be less luxurious especially the interior. The new RX is not a plush inside as the old generation was.

I had the same reaction to photos of the new RX interior. There are non-luxury brands whose interiors look as expensive. Between that and the 4-cylinder-only powertrain choices, I see why its luxury credentials have been questioned. I'm assuming the new ES will have the powertrain lineup the Crown has. That'll mean a top model with lots of power and AWD, but it'll still sound and feel ike a hybrid four.
