Default Alignment question.

Got 4 new tires and alignment about 3 weeks ago and finally drove the car yesterday and it kept feeling like the wind was going to blow the car away in both directions anything above 65. It's been windy here lately, but this still felt unusual. This is the print out.

Just nature or something is wrong with the alignment?

What brand and model of tire did you install? What is the current tire psi reading?

Why did you get an alignment to begin with? Was it to cure something or just cause you got new tires?

The alignment looks fine (former alignment tech here)

The wind blowing the car has nothing to do with your alignment. that's just cause wind tends to blow stuff. lol. your car is being pushed by the wind. ES is a big car with a lot of surface area to push around and it's also high riding on big ol tires. nothing to see there.

A pot hole knocked the toe in out of spec on my car. Until it was realigned, the car was all over the highway in cross winds. In winter driving I could not drive over 60mph safely. Without changing tires, the alignment solver the issue.

New tires can cause some handling issue until they are broken in. I had a set of new Michelin tires on a MB S550 that were a mess for the first 100 miles. Also check the tire pressure, dealers inflate to very high pressures to set the tire on the wheel. Any pressure above the recommended 35 psi will reduce the contact area of the tire with the road.

New tires are Goodyear Assurance Maxlife, 35 cold. I guess it's nature just doing it's thing.

Good choice on shoes. I have them on my ES now as well as my wife's RX.

I actually like when the ES blows around a bit. Reminds me it's a proper big car and not some tiny car slammed to the ground. easy to control anyway with the light steering!

Your front toe is crap. You should have balanced numbers with the same polarity. You have -0.03 left and 0.04 right. So your left is toed out and your right is toed in. That's just dumb, and the tech who did it doesn't understand anything beyond what is green is good. Pretty widespread problem these days. Most Lexus cars get best tire wear with a little toe in, but this being front drive (unlike the rest of Lexus), it might not be ideal. Regardless, you shouldn't have one negative and the other positive if you want the car to handle predictably.

Interesting point. Will have it checked by another place and raise this comment. Thanks.
