Default Trunk lid spoilers

Just curious as to how many people have gotten a new non-F Sport or Hybrid without the optional trunk spoiler. Shopping around recently it seemed that almost every allocated Ultra Luxury was slated to have one added on at the factory. Personally I think it really detracts from the luxury appearance of the car and I can’t believe it makes that much difference to the MPG in any event.

I think it adds to the luxury appearance of the car. Without it looks like a base model loaner car when they give you your free oil change.

I don't think it's even seriously meant to add to either the MPG or the high-speed stability. My guess is that it's just the same cosmetic gingerbread that's led Japanese makers to add trunklid spoilers to their high-end family sedans for over 30 years.

I agree. The ES350 looks much nicer with the rear spoiler.

Got a 2022 Base Premium and it had the spoiler, which I was VERY happy with as thats a feature I always missed out on previously. I cant picture the car without it Really does seem pretty close to standard on the 2022 these days, much like how the Pano roof is nearly standard on the ULs (although funny enough, did find a listing for a UL without one: (https://www.lexusofsilverspring.com/...FZ1B19NU124249)

When I was searching, I came across one that was in a dealer showroom and got so excited because first I didn't notice it is missing the spoiler so was almost ready to close the deal but last minute saw it doesn't have spoiler so didn't buy it.

I think the car looks great either way. My 2022 Base + Premium doesn’t have one and that’s ok with me.

I just added one. I think it adds a nice understated sporty look.

Casper1, can you give some detail on how you did that? Buy on eBay? Self-install? I have a 2019 ES 350 in Pearl and I would love a trunk spoiler. Thanks.

Yes, eBay. The spoiler company. They paint to match which was perfect. Comes with 3m adhesive already installed so no drilling. Very easy addition. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-FOR-201...-127632-2357-0

There’s nothing much better than a “factory installed“ rear spoiler. Aftermarket rear spoilers aren’t the same like a Lexus OEM factory one.

I don't disagree, but side by side I cannot tell the difference.
