Default More newbie questions: The display

Two questions this time:

1) Is there any easy or one-touch way the display can be toggled on and off entirely? Sometimes I'd like not to have that big display as a glowing distraction during long drives at night.

2) The panoramic 360 view comes on automatically in my car when I shift into reverse. Can it be switched on in parking situations when in Drive?

As always, thanks for sharing your experience.

Regarding question #2, I just hit the button on the lower left end of the dashboard when I'm pulling forward into a parking spot. There's an option to turn on the pano view when your MPH is low, but that's too annoying for me because it happens a lot while your driving around..

Don't know about one touch. If I remember the order correctly push menu button - > hoover over settings-> display sub menu pops up -> click display -> click turn off.
When I need the display back push the map button.

I would like to switch on the turn view automatically but I think that’s not possible.

That’s the only way.

I don't know the answer to your first question, but question 2 is pretty straightforward. When the pano view is up, there is a control on the lower left (I think - but check both lower corners in case my memory is off) to set it to auto mode. In that setting, it will come on any time vehicle speed is below a certain speed, 5 MPH I believe. It is great for parking situations but way too distracting for me in traffic as it comes up at every stop light. I too use the button on the left of the dash but it isn't terribly convenient to locate that button while maneuvering into a parking space.

There is a workaround if you have iPhone hooked up CarPlay auto dims the screen at night so it's more gentle on the eyes.

"Button on the left of the dash" as in "to the left of the steering wheel"?

....
See page 40 of the 2022 LEXUS ES250,ES300H,ES350 NAVIGATION AND MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM OWNER'S MANUAL for the "Screen Off" setting which does exactly what the item title states for the display when selected.

Northside Lexus's Melissa O'Connell also has a TechTip Tuesday video covering display screen day and night mode, screen off, etc. settings and operations. Screen off specifics start at the 5:51 time mark:
