Default 2022 ES350 seat memory profiles not working

Just picked it up last night and spent the entire day just trying to learn everything. The seat memory profiles 1, 2 and 3 don't seem to be working - everything in both keys simply revert back to the last seat position I set the memory for and you cannot change to a different profile. I I called the dealer and he said he thinks it is because the keys were never calibrated - said they were seeing this issue and the keys should have been calibrated prior to giving me the car. Considering my car had countless little numbered stickers all over the inside parts/trim (like you would find on parts of a desk you need to assemble) I can believe that. He told me I cannot calibrate it myself and need to bring it in. The dealer is 70 miles away so I am wondering if anyone ever calibrated a new Lexus fob key on their own?

It may not be just a key fob calibration issue. Problems similar to yours was discussed in the "2020 ES 350 Seat Memory Settings" thread of this forum. In venny1's post number 9 and post number 11 he stated the problem "... technician finding seat memory setting not activated. Pre-delivery verification not done thoroughly." and the fix "Tech plugs in to capsule with computer to set seat memory. A matter of minutes.".

While I can understand the reluctance of not wanting to make a 70 mile trek to the dealer it's probably best to take it in and have the dealer get this issue correctly fixed. Since at least one pre-delivery item was overlooked, while there I'd also request the dealer double check all the other pre-delivery items to ensure nothing else had been overlooked.

Sounds like that could be it. I did tell the dealer earlier today if I drove there I want everything looked at again -my guess is I missed a couple of these also.

I saw on youtube where this woman who is a technology specialist at northside lexus say if you hold the unlock button at the same time as your memory 1,2 or 3 button until it beeps. Try it out and see if it works.

That's how you marry the fob to a memory position but I think the OP issue is the memory isn't working to begin with.

Exactly - I did bring the car in this morning and they had to program something in the car they should have done before I took ownership. After that we did what seemed like more than one hour of testing it out with the salesman, technology "expert" and service tech and although the memory was now working the sync to the keys were not. Finally we realized that the second key cannot just be 10 feet or so away for the key sync to work properly - the service tech moved the second key like 30 feet away and everything finally worked (none of us four realized the second key had to be that far away) . After finding a couple more little numbered stickers inside the car along with a huge rubber band wrapped around a rear headrest I think I am good to go!

Same thing on my 2022 I picked up two weeks ago and more.

The seat memory wasn’t working and the reverse camera steering guidelines overlay did not display.

I scheduled a service appt a few days later and the service lady said she had the same issue with the seat memory not being programmed correctly during PDI(Pre-Delivery Inspection).

Turned out they also had to program something for the reverse camera steering guidelines. Took an hour or so to resolve the programming issues.

While Lexus is nowhere near perfect I will certainly take their customer service over your average Kia dealer any day…lol

I've read some horror stories on Genesis/Hyundai.

We just brought our 2023 300h Luxury home today and after messing with the seats for an hour, I gave up and jumped on the forum. Thanks for this post. I printed the bulletin and followed the directions. It Worked!

You might want to keep those directions handy. The seat Easy Exit function on my 2019 ES 350 Ultra Luxury stopped working. After trying a seat ECU reinitialization/recalibration procedure the procedure fixed the problem and seat Easy Exit functioning started working again.

You could’ve had them pick the car up at your home and return it to you. Save a whole day of office time that way. They’ve done it for me. They boast of this availability as part of the Lexus benefits.
