Small but strange: Key fob design decision
Not a big deal by any means; I searched the forum and couldn't find a discussion about it. But...
I happened to notice that many Lexus models, including some with the newfangled sleek-design key fobs, have the traditional hole in them so you can carry them on a key ring or keychain. It appears in pictures that the ES's fob has no such feature. Is it, in fact, absent?

My 2022 ES fob has a hole to attach it to a key ring.

Is the hole in the fob itself, or in the pouch as shown in Kalel's photo?
Also, does the smart card make the fob mostly unnecessary in daily use?

The small eyelet at the top is where I put the ring that holds the one key I carry.
Da' spouse likes a lot more bling on the NX fob, which has two slots to fit a small ring. If you notice the ES fob has a much smaller opening.
NX on left, ES on right.
Couldn't comment on smart card since my F Sport is a '19.

It's part of the removable key that's attached to the key fob, see below:

Thanks, both of you. This is very informative.
While we're on the subject, I'd still love to hear from a smart card owner how that works.

This makes sense. The one I saw for sale was around $300.00... For now I'll just carry the smart key...
