Default How much $ for chrome delete?

I got a quote for wrapping the chrome window trim, front grill trim, and back trim in gloss black today. I was surprised that they wanted $679 for Avery vinyl to do the entire delete. I was thinking $450 to $500 so would like to know what others paid if you had a shop do the delete? Thanks in advance!

There are precut vinyl kits available on eBay that are vehicle specific and make it very easy to cover all the chrome on your car and usually for around $75. And if it’s something your unable to tackle yourself, these precut kits can be installed with minimal talent and experience. You just need to find someone capable of taking care of it and it’ll save you some serious money. The popularity of wraps is really high lately and it’s taking time for a full industry to develop behind the demand. The industry is growing fast but u til it catches up, the demand will let the shops in business now command prices that exceed the appropriate market values for their work. Which is fine, this demand is what incentivized people to commit themselves to opening a shopping this industry. And at $600 for a chrome delete kit! Maybe I should look into this industry myself

I am also interested too, but wasn't sure if I have to remove all the trims and put on the vinyl?
Found one on ebay already precut:

I did my previous car myself and it looks great but I’ve since had back surgery and just don’t feel like tackling it myself this time around. After breaking the quote down they’re charging $195 for the material and for $479 for the installation.

I am glad my ES300h is black in this sense. The chrome helps to break up the sea of blackness.

I vote leave it alone. The ES exudes class and presence. Maturity.

If you do do it, make sure it's done with gloss and you have other matching accents to go with it as with the example posted above^

Depending on the color, you run the risk of making the car look slab sided where the proportions aren't highlighted correctly. A car like the ES has a massive side profile so making it all one color won't help. It'll look like any old Ford.

Also everyones definition of a "good job" is different. Wrapping is not a "minimal skill" task. It does require extreme attention to detail, knowing your materials, having the right tools and knowledge to not damage the car. Every part wrapped is different, has a different fit to the body and surrounding pieces, has intricate rubber seals that can be easily cut. It requires a lot of experience to get right. So yeah that's why a good job costs money. There's a lot of people out there doing horrible jobs so make sure you see a sample of ones work first.

Good wrappers do the trim on the car.

My car is a 2022 ES F Sport in blue with black rims. The chrome trim is the only chrome on the car and should have been gloss black from the factory.

Agreed, the blacked out wheels (sporty appearance) look out of place without matching trim ...

if i do it i wont do the front of the car i was told by some friends who do this as a profession that they know how i get when my car has pitting and wraping the grill and that will just make it look ugly to me after about about a bunch of driving and stone pitting on the grill if wrapped

but the wrap would help save the chrome grill itself from much damage, and can be done again to look new at any time.

Sounds reasonable. I paid about $850 but my current car has probably twice as much chrome. One place told me $1200 but they were mobile. I've read the Tesla forums and many people were paying close to $1,000.
