Buzzing noise from trunk area when parked
So I go to take the dog out before bed and on my way through the garage I hear a strange buzzing sound like something is running. I start to look around and it was coming from the rear end of my car. I opened the trunk and pulled up the carpeted area in the trunk and it seemed to be coming from somewhere just in front of the spare tire. I started the car and backed it out of the garage for the night and the noise was gone afterward.
The car had been parked for about 7 hours and was locked. I didn’t have the key on me when I passed through the garage so it’s not as if the car had “woken up” from my approach.
Interested if anyone has had this happen or know what may cause it. Could it be something with the audio system perhaps? I have ML. I know the amps are sometimes in the trunk.

Approximately five hours after the engine is turned off, you may hear sound coming from under the vehicle for several minutes. This is the sound of a fuel evaporation leakage check and, it does not indicate a malfunction.
