Default Exclamation Point When Backing Up

Hello,

I just purchased a 2020 ES 350. When I got home and went to move my car and put it in reverse, There was an exclamation point in the top left corner of the display screen where it's showing my backup camera. It is not an exclamation on my dashboard. I know that means that something is wrong. This one only shows up when I am backing up, on the display screen. Is this normal? If so, what does it mean? I'm a bit concerned, as our RX 350 doesn't have that when backing up. Thanks so much for any help!

I don't have a picture right now, but it's a black exclamation point on a white diamond background. It comes up in the upper left corner of the display screen when in reverse. I've been scouring the handbook and can't find anything.

I suspect is it telling you that you don't have the guidelines turned on (the icon in the lower right corner of the screen)?

I don't know why they put the details of the back up camera system in the Navigation and Multimedia System Owner's Manual, but that's where you'll find the information you're looking for. On page 194 of the LEXUS 2020 ES350/ES300H FROM OCT. 2019 PROD. NAVIGATION AND MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM OWNER'S MANUAL (OM06200U) the last entry in the table lists what the "Likely Cause" (there are several) and the "Solution" for the "[exclamation point in white diamond symbol] is displayed" "Symptom". (In the manual [exclamation point in white diamond symbol] is the actual symbol but I couldn't quickly figure out how to get it transferred for inclusion in this reply.)

Thanks very much! I called my dealership and will be bringing the car in on Tuesday. Apparently, the system needs to be recalibrated. I guess the car sat for a long time on the lot and when they jumped the battery, it messed the system up. Super frustrating, but at least now I know what it is and it's apparently an easy fix. Thanks to all who responded!

The Non-Nav cars have a different screen, camera view and settings so the
appropriate information is in the supplemental manual.
The electrical drop out was the OP's real problem all along.
