Problem with Contacts/Phonebook
I had an issue where my messages and emails were no longer being registered on the screen with my Mark Levinson system. I unregistered the phone in the setup, deleted the Bluetooth connection in my phone for the car and started from scratch re-registering my phone, a Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Everything seems to have worked except now when I push the Talk button to place a call it can't find any of my contacts. When I go to Contacts in the setup in the car I see them all there. I can manually make a call from the Contacts lists but using the voice activated system it doesn't work. It says the phonebook is empty. Anyone know what step I missed or how I can correct this?

No, not favorites. Press talk button, say Call Joe Blow. It says can't find Joe Blow in your phonebook (or something close to that). I can no longer use the talk button to call any contacts because it says it can't find them even though they are loaded and I can manually go into contacts, choose one and make the call that way. The phonebook didn't get imported into the voice system after I reconnected things. I blew away the setup and started from scratch a number of times trying to get the calling from the voice system to work to no avail.

I'm afraid this happens more often than I would like to admit. It happens with my 2016 NX as well. I have better luck using the Siri Eyes Free option (press and hold the phone button on the steering wheel until I get the Siri prompt) which is then selecting the contact directly from the phone. Unfortunately, this is an Apple iPhone option and I'm not aware of an equivalent in the Android world. Perhaps some of our Android folks can offer a similar workaround. I do feel your pain though and sadly, it isn't new to this generation of ES.
The issue fixed itself. I tried it today and all is well again. Making a call using the voice command to call someone in my phonebook now works instead of saying the name is not found. No clue what changed between the other day and now but I'm not complaining. ;-)

Just joking - glad it's resolved.
Great news! Let’s hope it stays fixed. My 2016 is hit or miss, but I don’t have enough experience with our 2019 to confirm its behavior.
