I just noticed an empty space in the middle of the foam piece covering the spare tire in the trunk of our new 2020 ES350 UL. It's the small odd-shaped depression in the foam between the white-yellow label and the jack. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Does anyone really know what tool fits into that recessed space?
Lol, just imagine if people actually read their manuals....
I read the manual. I always keep a PDF of the various manuals on my PC so I can search them by keyword (Control, F)
But I guess you didn't notice that the the slot pictured in the manual holding a towing eyelet is completely different from the actual slot in my picture. Hence my question asking whether anyone with a similar shaped cut-out in their car had any other tools. It doesn't even appear that the eyelet could fit in this space. I've occasionally gotten some wrenches in some of my past ES's and RX's, but not this time.
Missing parts 2021 Lexus RS 350
I am also missing that center piece in the foam tray. The shape is the same as yours. The long rectangle slots should be for tire wedges. I also read that there should be a nylon bag to put your flat tire in.
So far my Lexus maintenance guy tells me the missing parts are in some cars depending on what country you live in. So far I’m not buying that…yet.
I'm sure they make one foam piece for every market and the tools you get depend on the market the car is sold in.
Actually. there's at least two different pieces. The one posted above for cars equipped with a spare tire and one for cars not equipped with a spare tire instead equipped witha pressurized puncture sealant tank and a tire inflation pump. The Owner's Manual figure for that looks like:
I'd prefer the no spare tire option. So i can fit more stuff. I have an inflation pump I want to stuff somewhere under the trunk floor but it's a tad too big to fit anywhere due to the dumb spare tire.
The dumb spare tire may come in handy one day. I had a blowout two years or so ago and the tire was trashed so without that spare, it would have been a long day.
You could get FOUR flats and then what - I'm not suggesting FOUR spare tires but ONE comes in handy and statistically there's a decent chance you'll get a blowout at some point that trashes your tire making the flat repair kit DUMBER than the spare.
