Electronic Gremlins Again!
My Service Advisor sent a loaner to my house today and took my car back to the dealer. A tech is going to drive it with a diagnostic computer with him. If they can't replicate the problem I think I am going to try to Lemon Law it. Since I picked it up last Saturday my Nav screen went blank on my drive home. I didn't drive it on Sunday. My wife and I took it to lunch on Monday and it all was well until our drive back.......that's when I got the pictures I posted of the Nav system screen fading out to white. Hopefully they can figure it out. I've got a basic 2025 ES350 for a loaner.
Kudos for the Lexus dealer and advisor. Hopefully it’s a fault within the DCM or infotainment system, since any problem involving the profile or phone pairing settings might not be reproducible by the technician. Make sure to let them know the issue happens with an iPhone paired with iOS CarPlay.
Eager to know the root cause. Fingers crossed!

The dealer picked up my car on Monday. It didn’t move until yesterday so no Tech drove it home. 🤷♂️
It didn’t move until it ended up in their shop yesterday for several hours. I could see it on my app sitting with the driver door open. I got a call late yesterday afternoon from my Service Advisor to tell me they replicated the Nav issue and the first step the Tech had to take was to do a factory reset on the car to restore it to factory settings. Of course I said yes. I like technology and I will have no issues getting it reprogrammed to my settings.
I thought that once they did the factory reset that I would lose access to it in my app. It’s still there and as of 10:30 this morning was sitting with the doors locked. I suspect it’s sitting outside of their shop, hasn’t been reset, and that was just the first step the Tech had to take to diagnose the issue. Aggravating.

Good to know they were able to replicate. So it’s likely tied to the DCM, Infotainment Hardware, corrupted settings or a software bug.

It was about 4PM when I spoke with her yesterday. I just got an alert on my Apple Watch that the doors were open and then another message with multiple alerts. I looked at the app and can still see the car on it sitting with the doors unlocked so apparently it's in their shop now. Hopefully they will resume the work and it will disappear from the app........but then I will know nothing!
I got an update today. The diagnostic techs have completed the steps they are required to complete and the Nav system is still not working properly. They filed a report with their Lexus Technical Support (offsite) with all of their information yesterday. My Service Advisor said it usually takes 2-3 days for that group to respond with the next set of steps they want the diagnostic techs to take to determine the issue. My Service Advisor did tell me that it wasn’t the head unit. The diagnostic techs determined that it was sending and receiving signals as it should. It’s computer related. I have no idea how many steps Technical Support will require them to take to determine the problem.
The Consumer Reports report provided in this thread earlier on reliability of electronics going down on 2024 Lexus seems to be very accurate. GM is more reliable than this.

Update: My car is still in the dealership’s shop. Last week they were waiting on their off site technicians to send them more steps to follow to hopefully fix the problems. On Friday I got a notification from my Service Advisor that they were sending them firmware and software updates. They got the firmware update and did that yesterday. They did not get the software update and my Advisor sent me a text this morning telling me that “we are in a holding pattern.”
I’m in a Lemon Law studying pattern. I qualify if this doesn’t correct the problem especially if they keep it 30 days. That’s instant qualification in Georgia if the car has less than 24,000 miles or is less than two years old. It qualifies for both.

Fingers crossed it works out quickly and in your favor. Good luck!
I have been reading GA Lemon Laws and have the state guide on my iPad with the necessary forms. I counted the other day out of curiosity and I've owned 25+ vehicles with at least a Nav system and several with many more electronic features that control various part of the car. I've never had an issue with any of them (knock on wood) except a 2006 Audi and they were all quick repairs.
Patience is a virtue. I've already started looking for a suitable replacement because I plan to sell this car once I get it back if I can't Lemon Law it. The sad part is that I usually sell my cars to friends because they all know that I am OCD about maintenance and appearance of my vehicles. I've already told one friend who wants it for her daughter that I wouldn't sell this car to any of my friends.
More to come........

Are you interested in another Lexus as they should be willing to offer a good deal maybe and they could not knock off for this problem. A buyer if you were selling can see service history. As for lemon law no matter what it says differs by state to success in using as here in NC is virtually impossible.

When hooked up to CarPlay it used to read my text messages to me and I could respond if I wanted to while driving. That went out. There are several things in the Driver Information Center that no longer appear on my car that work on the loaner. That's why I don't want to keep it because I won't know what's next.
For the lemon law in NC the process is straight forward also but the problem is the success rate. I know of a case where an inspector was sent out to evaluate the car and fully documented that the problem was still there and that the dealership did not fix the problem after numerous attempts and the final result was still a no go for lemon law. NC has a very strong auto lobby.
The TLX Type S got axed this year, so its resale value should hold up pretty well; not to mention it's fairly reliable and a good looking sedan.
The M340i w/ xDrive is a beast and check most boxes IMHO; definitely worth a look if you’re leasing or don’t plan to keep it for too long.
I personally don't care for MB, Audi or Genesis sedans.
