‘25 ES 350 8th Gen ?

When I had a brand new ES350 loaner, the V6 was causing the car to wobble and shake side to side at idle while waiting at a red light. It was slight but enough to notice as i was coming off a hybrid which had obviously no ICE lumper running at a red light. When you drive ICE after driving hybrid and especially EV, you notice how downright violent and unrefined engines can be, compared.
I think you guys just get used to it and say "it's smooth."

No, I don’t think it’s we “just get used to it” but the fact that this engine is widely recognized as a smooth performer, not just by owners but by numerous auto reviews, who often use terms like “buttery” to describe the powertrain.

nah. cause i had a subsequent loaner RX a couple weeks later and same thing. in fact if you dig out my posts, i posted about it. i also posted how i tested the NX and felt it was small. I remember those posts.
even both my brand new ES hybrids rumbled the car if the ICE engine happened to kick on at a light while idling. others have posted about it before. (i have too--check) i used to build engines and work on them a lot.. and im not talking changing oil. so i'm the first to know if something is broken or wrong. besides if something that significant is broken on a brand new lexus, that's an even bigger issue.
it's just inherent to gas engines to sometimes, depending on ignition firing, air metering, fuel mixture, idle speed, etc etc to have the rumbles and sway the car around if conditions are right. you know how engines will smooth out if you give them a little gas, but then start shaking around if the RPMs just get a tad low. im talking about rumbles/shakies @ idle, again. Not when you're "givin' her gas and acceleratin'." again im talking subtle. nothing that big. i'm a nuanced person and i'm very sensitive to the tiniest gradations.

just a couuple quick google searches. i'm not making stuff up. im not saying by and large they're NOT smooth, but certain people can be sensitive to idle shaking / rumbling @ idle.

That lasts very short, and only when running on both direct and port injection.

Is that what that is? I never bothered to look it up. but there were times the engine rocked the car particularly strongly. rare for the ICE to kick on though. certain conditions only.

I would wait for a couple of years for the 'e' models for Lexus to iron out issues before I buy one.
Does this trademark mean ICE only models will be removed from the line up?

Give me a nice looking AWD ES350h+ w/ rear foldable seats & 300+hp; and I'll upgrade ASAP!
...as long as they don''t remove the spare tire and keep regular fuel.
...Dream on, dream on, oh-oh-oh-

The e variants will be nothing more than just a low volume seller that Lexus has done with the Rz450e.

^I would tend to agree with that. Certainly the first part. Probably the second part.
Unless you do a full from the ground up EV, it's going to have lousy range and unoptimized unibody, low power, etc. Using a shared ICE platform means less interior space, excess parts, crowding, etc.
it's so disappointing to open the hood of an ICE-based EV and see a engine room full of big massive parts and no real frunk.
Lets hope Lexus has some real plans for a somewhat real EV. They could also borrow China tech. Toyota is said to be borrowing chinese tech for some future EV only vehicles.. as in why make your own when you can rent. So maybe that'll go on with the ES?

I don't want to be a buyer of a completely redone model. Maybe after 15 to 20 years ill get a newer model, once the kinks get worked out.

I think that they're smarter going the Hybrid route over all EV's because EV reception is cooling off and Toyota/Lexus have been in the hybrid game a long time and have a proven record (Prius).
Until battery technology gets better, I don't see a Great advantage over a hybrid (or PHEV). My guess is what other's have said and Lexus will follow Toyota's lead and make the ES300/350/Whatever a hybrid only like the Camry but who knows.
