2021 ES300h - weird clock/time issue
Hey everyone,
Yesterday I ran errands and arrived home at 12:28. I know this because my garage door app shows that’s when I pulled in.
My car was parked and off the rest of the day and most of today until this afternoon around 3:15 when I started it.
But both the digital dash clock and mechanical clock showed 12:28. My car was on for at least a minute before the car “realized” it was 3:15. At this point the digital dash time changed and the mechanical clock hands started spinning until it showed the correct time.
What do you make of that? It was obviously very minor and resolved quickly but I’m trying the rule out any electrical issues.

Or something interrupted the car’s normal internal update post-shutdown, which takes about 45 seconds. If it keeps happening what ever system or module does those updates (stores your preferences, radio info, HVAC settings, etc.) needs to be checked.
Thanks, that’s helpful. Would you be concerned about the battery with no other issues happening? The dealer hasn’t looked at it but I told them the issue and a tech suspects a battery issue.
What year is your ES aka how old is the battery? If you're three or four years old, I'd replace it (that's me - my opinion and what I do for preventive maintenance).
Thanks! It is a 2021 and is 3 years old so I guess it’s time to look into that. I appreciate your input!
When I start my 2019 UL the mileage shows less than what it actually is, then switches in about 5 seconds to the correct actual mileage on the car. Been doing this for almost 6 years...
