Does anyone use automatic car washes?
i wash my car Thur the car wash.. my is a 2022 moonbeam after winter go to the detailed shop to get it buff and waxed and I’m good to go.
when I washed it my self 3 hours it would take me and that’s every inch of the ext and int.( not wrothe my time and have to go to the spray station
now I go to the. $24 hour car wash spend $9 and I always do this on my way home from work around 3-4 am after a big rain storm unless there more rain in the forecast take me 5 min in and out and drive it home on the highway to air dry it.go my my indoor garage and clean all four inners doors and I’m go to go.
Dont buy a black car.
Automatic car washes aren't really a waste of money because they save time and that's the most precious thing that Any one of us have because once you use it, you NEVER get it back!
An automatic car wash allows you to spend that time in a different way. If you don't like hand washing your car, you can do something that you actually like doing instead. It comes down to what's important to you.....the time or the money. The choice is yours to make.
WARNING: I'm finding out the hard way that if you use any type of pressure or heavy water on your ES with a power trunk, Please turn the power off or you could have issues. In the glove box, there is a button on the left hand side that you should push in to cut the power. I read it in the owner's manual after the fact. Just remember to turn it back on when you're done.
Just my thoughts though and you may disagree but I'm good with that.
By the way, I'm not adverse to using a brushless car wash but prefer to wash mine by hand too but sometimes things can prevent me from doing that (winter and cold weather). The brushless can do things that I can't with a hand wash though like under carriage washing to get rid of road salt.
I don't get the car washed at the dealership. It causes too much work to fix what they could mess up. I will take ours to a brushless car wash in the winter and then bring her home in the warm garage. After an hour or two, I'll wipe the water off and finish things using either a detailing spray (ONR or P&S Bead Maker) and be good to go. I know that this is overkill but I'll wax her every couple of months using Collinite 845 or Blackfire sealant.
The next step for me is that I'm going to apply some GTech HALO ceramic to her in the spring (after claying, buffing, decontaminating the paint first). The whole front of our car has X-Pel on it and this coating moves with the PPF and is designed for it. This should make cleaning her easier in the future.
I'm Sorry for the hi-jack and back to our regularly scheduled programming.
