Does it have the rear side curtains? If yes then it is in fact the UL.
That is the definitive proof of an
ultra luxury, aside from verifying the VIN. It is the only feature you cannot get on any other trim level except for UL. And It is standard, which is why I referred to it as a feature as opposed to an option.
The driver's front seat thigh extender is another feature on UL.
Semi-aniline seats with driver thigh extender, are included on Lux. and UL trims. NuLuxe seats on the remaining trims, including F-Sport, do not offer thigh extender.

My Luxury model has HUD. I think you may be forgetting that most of the “standard features” on a UL are also available as “options” on the Luxury model - and perhaps on the base/premium as well. The rear window side curtains are certainly unique to the UL. I also thought the panoramic sunroof, while still an option regardless of trim, could only be ordered on a UL model - at least in North America. Of course, I would think the decoder is the obvious way to confirm trim and it looks like that has been confirmed.

In 2019, the Luxury model did NOT have the semi-aniline seats. Just the regular leather. The standard options included on various trims have evolved over this generation’s lifecycle.
Just as fun tidbit... In Japan (and probably other ROW areas) it seems the UL gets the ultra plush high end Lexus carpeting. that would be so cool to have. i haven't seen US cars with that.
i knnow you can buy it and just throw it on. but $$$$
I thought I was the only person noticing the modest level of the carpet in the 2021 350 ES. My 2021 carpet is adequate but my prior luxury GM cars had wonderfully plush carpet that I miss. Good to hear it's available in the UL model, not that I'd spring for the UL for that reason alone.
Are the genuine leather Lexus seats more padded than the very firm seats in my 2021 Base Lexus? Must admit, I do miss my sumptuous Volvo seats on the Volvo S60 I traded in on the Lexus.

The panoramic glass roof is only available as an option on 4 trims (ES 350 Premium, ES 350 Luxury, ES 350 Ultra Luxury, ES 350 F SPORT Design) The power moonroof is standard on every ES 250 and 350 Trim. The panoramic glass roof is not a standard feature/option on any model or trim.
The panoramic glass roof is excluded completely as an option on (ES 350 F SPORT Handling, All Hybrid trims, All ES 250 trims)
This is all based on the North American market only and for MY22'.
***Edit*** The HUD (Heads-Up Display) comes standard on the Ultra Lux trim only. But is available as an option on every other model and trim.

You are right, 2019 didn't and I never said it did, in fact I never specified 2019 either. My post is for 22MY only since that's the most current model. For reference I had a 2019 Lux so I knew for that MY19 only Ultra Luxury had the semi-aniline seats.

For example, in your post here, I knew which MY you were referring to because MY22 is the only year where HUD became standard on Ultra Luxury only. Yet you never mentioned the MY.

If it’s a 350 (versus the 300h), a panoramic sunroof would also confirm it as a UL model.
With respect, that's not accurate. The panoramic glass roof is not a standard feature/option on any Lexus model and trim. The power moonroof is what comes standard on every Lexus model and trim. It's just likely that the build template each dealer has adds the panoramic glass roof because it's a popular option but it is not standard.

Yep, that's kinda how it works doesn't it? Otherwise there is much less reason to upgrade to the newer model in that same generation if the vehicle remains static.
You are right, 2019 didn't and I never said it did, in fact I never specified 2019 either. The scope of this thread has been around the 2022 MY. My post is for 22MY only since that's the most current model. Should have been inferred. For reference I had a 2019 Lux so I knew for that MY19 only Ultra Luxury had the semi-aniline seats. Not sure where you thought I was talking about 2019?
For example, in your post here, I knew which MY you were referring to because MY22 is the only year where HUD became standard even though there was no mention of which MY you were referencing.

My mistake. I recalled seeing a 2019 reference. After reviewing this thread I see that was incorrect. I don’t always reread the entire thread when responding and perhaps I confused this with another discussion.

You would actually be correct in your assumption, I could have sworn I said it was 2019 in the OP. But I guess the way I was describing it insinuated it hence the confusion. So you're both correct in a sense!
Correction:
I actually posted this photo which stated it was a 2019:

So it's just a bit convoluted... But it could also just not show options for some reason, just the "standard" features, but I could recall the old Lexus.com VIN lookup showcasing options...
